Sexual Revolution at Church

So I’m taking my usual route home to GeedingManor and I look over at the mega-church named Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX.  This is what I saw:

See that area I got circled, that HUGE sign?  I know you can’t read what it says since the picture is from my camera phone, but it says, “SEXUAL REVOLUTION.”  That’s right, on the outside of the church’s walls are the words “SEXUAL REVOLUTION” in ginourmous letters.  Try explaining that sign to the kids.

If there intent is to peek some interest, I think it worked.

You can read more about the Sexual Revolution series here.

I’ll see if I can get a better pic later.

I LOVE IT! It’s about time church made church-people a little uncomfortable. Not that it makes you uncomfortable, just that it make most uncomfortable. Do I make sense?

A great church with an awesome pastor. If you’ve never heard Ed Young before, you’re missing out.

  3. Jeff Dowdle says:

A great church that is always relevant. God created sex so what better place to discuss it than in the local church.

  4. Cajun Pastor says:

That sounds like the series I'm leading… every night in my bedroom!! Oh yeah baby!!

Ed's a good guy. He's been a friend for a while, and he comes from a really cool family. He's a bit over the top sometimes, but definitely creative and very passionate. I hope this series does well and lives and perspectives are changed.

That’s my home church. I guess I will check out Ed this weekend and see what direction he takes this series. One thing for sure, Ed is always relevant.

I think it’s great! My church did a three part series on Love, Sex, and Relationships. I designed a cover for it, we packaged it and sold it to those who attended. It went great and people got a lot out of it. The church needs to talk about it, not just sex, but all those words that some fluff pastors leave out of their sermons.

  9. Stacy says:

Ed Young is the next Jim Bakker. Add a little shock-jock in there with Sexual Revolution and you’ve got the Bakker’s on crack.

  10. Kathy says:

It used to be such a taboo subject but it looks like it’s not anymore. Our pastor did a sermon about 2 months ago and we ended up having requests for over 50 CD’s of the sermon. That’s an all time record at our church!
