Turns out that Whataburger is the winner, which tells me a lot of folks are down south. Second was a tie with McDonald’s and In-N-Out Burger.  I’ve only had In-N-Out once in my life and have to agree it’s a good burger, they also have good fries. I’m also glad to see that Kincaid’s and Braum’s made the list.
Here is a list of the burger places I have never heard of: Charlie, Culver’s, Back Yard Burger, and Checkers.Â
I need to do a little research and find out where are these places.

Back Yard Burgers are here in Memphis, TN (as well as on through the rest of the southern region into Florida; they originated in Mississippi). We also have Checker’s here – I have not had the pleasure, but have heard they have a great hamburger…BYB started out as a double drive through chain, but many now have dining areas as well…all the checkers I have seen are double drive through set-ups like the original BYB…
Backyard Burger is in NC as well. Very good burgers, fries and milkshakes! I forgot all about that place, honestly. It’s like a better Checkers..
