U2 and Sunday School

u2bomb.jpgIt was like a dream come true, U2 and Sunday School, and I had nothing to do with the planning of this event!

I know there are those of you that don’t really care about this stuff, so just skip this posting.  But for those of you that do care . . .

Today about 18 of us listened to How To Dismantle An Antomic Bomb, and talked about the album, Biblical references, and all sorts of related stuff.  I did my best just to be quiet and listen because I wanted to hear other people’s take on this stuff, and it was very enlightening.

As much as I listen to U2, I never took the time to actually print out the lyrics, sit down, and listen to the whole album.  This will be a practice I will definately have to instill in my life.  I can’t tell you how much stuff I didn’t noctice before, and how many lyrics I actually misinterpreted. ;-0

I will say it is very neat how the whole album actually tells a story from beginning to end.  Now I can really see why it won Album of the Year.

I’m so glad I can be part of a group that is willing to open this stuff up to interpretation.  I can remember back in youth camp how I was told that the only station presets in my car should only be the Christian radio station, because all the rest were basically destroying my soul.  I’m glad I never really subscribe to doing that, I would be missing out on so much spiritual fulfilling stuff I would never had the chance to be exposed to, and missing out on ways to connect with folks that don’t attend church.
