I found this butterfly (or maybe it’s a moth) outside my house while trimming the bushes. This is the largest butterfly I’ve ever seen (about six inches wingtip to wingtop), and his large body and fuzzy legs kinda creeped me out.

That’s crazy! I saw one of these on the ground at work today. I’m pretty sure it is a moth.

This is a moth. How you can tell is that moths when they land have their wings open. Butterflies when they land, have their wings closed.
My dog caught one the other night and it was as big as yours but it was white with these beautiful black spots all over it’s wings. When I tried to free it, it played dead and just sat there until we left. It was so pretty.
