He sold the church – the whole church

STOCKTON — For the ninth time, sentencing was delayed for the Ripon pastor who stole his church. It’s been rescheduled for Friday.

Randall Radic, 54, pleaded guilty last year to one count of grand theft by embezzlement. He was charged in November 2005 with 10 felonies and two enhancements in a case in which prosecutors said he sold church property — first the parsonage where he lived and later, the sanctuary.

Investigators said he received $460,000 for selling The First Congregational Church on Main Street in Ripon. An unsuspecting couple who purchased it planned to use it as an investment, renting it to start-up churches.
