Hog Mountain Baptist Church No More

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. A Baptist church in Georgia thinks it can attract more members if it didn’t have “hog” in its name.

So after 152 years, Hog Mountain Baptist Church in Gwinnett County is changing its name to Hamilton Mill Baptist.

    I’m sorry to say, but if that church wants to attract more members it might be wise to rename itself Hamilton Mill Church…………..many tlmes denominational indicators cause some to turn away from coming inside!

    We would never even think of taking Baptist off the name. I don’t understand what the big fuss is over something as simple as a moniker, it is just really odd that so much stuff started with someone who hasn’t graced the doorstep of the church in at least 11 years. They don’t know the heart-aches that we have felt under the name due to prior splits, all we want is some peace so that we may get a new start in the mission field.
