Largest and Fastest-Growing Churches in America

OutReachMagazine.com has some intriguing data regarding church size.

I find it interesting that two of the three largest churches in the U.S. are located in one city – Houston. In fact, Texas has the most largest churches with 17 followed by California with 16, Georgia (nine), Florida (seven) and Illinois and Ohio with five.  The Lone Star State also has the most fastest growing churches with fourteen.

A Lubbock church comes in second in the fastest growing church category.

And for you interested in Matt Chandler, the link above has a story about him as well.

Keith, I just can't imagine attending a church with a 40k plus membership. It's nice to know just about everyone I go to church with, not really on a personal basis, but know their names and such. It would just be hard for me. I have relatives that attend church that big in Houston and they love it. They were raised in the same church I was, so I suppose it's personal prefrence. They have 3 services on Sunday morning. I just can't fathom the logistics involved with that. Thanks for the informing post!
