The photographer is a lady who’s been widely criticized. She deliberately made the kids cry in order to take these photographs. How she did it was to literally give the child candy and then take it away. She defended herself by saying that the photographs had all been touched up so that the kids look more upset than they actually were. And one of them was her own child.

Reminds me of how I used to treat my younger brother in order to see the “cute” face he made just BEFORE he burst into tears! Mama didn’t approve of my “game” one little bit and let me know it!
It reminds of that commercial for drunk driving where the little baby “Emily” is crying and crying throughout the whole commercial. The idea behind it is that her mother can’t pick her up because she was killed by a drunk driver. But when I watch the commercial is, “That is a real baby. Crying like that endlessly. Someone pick up that little baby and cuddle her.” It breaks my heart.
This is AWESOME! Just remember, if they’re crying, they’re breathing.
