As many of you know, wifeGeeding has only one eye. Well, she has two, but one of them is made out of glass. I’ve always been proud of her on how open she is talking about it, how it has never really stopped her from doing anything, and her cool attitude at poking fun at it. I think she likes to educate people.
Long story short, she was born blind in that eye, later the retina was detached and glaucoma got the best of it, and it was removed at a very young age, kindergarten I think. There’s a cute story about the doctor telling her how he was going to make her the prettiest blue eye, and she snaps back at him saying she wants a brown eye to match.
So why am I telling you this? Well, because her glass-eye doctor asked her to speak to a mother who’s child is about to receive a glass-eye. I’m not a parent, but I can imagine how stressful of a situation this can be and can only admire my in-laws for how they assessed this with a very young wifeGeeding. I just thought it was really cool that he would ask my wife to do this, and may God allow her to speak to this mother and child in a calming yet confident voice.

You are truly blessed! Just think of all the more important things she could have only ONE of…..
How wonderful that she could take this experience and help to remove some of the stress this other mother must be feeling. God bless her.
I am also very proud of her…..l am her mother!!! The timing of this opportunity just shows that God works in His time, as we offered to be of help to anyone 28 years ago, and now we get the request! I believe God wanted our daughter to be the one to calm the fears of these people, not us. So, He waited until she was older and then sent her the opportunity!! Wow! Isn’t God awesome?!!
Wow. Very cool. May God bless her with words of wisdom. What a great video! Go Wifey!
What an absolutely wonderful thing for her to do!!!

Wow! How courageous for your wife to allow videos and pictures. You both have a great attitude about it. No doubt, she will provide a great deal of comfort for a child undergoing the same thing!
I lost vision in my right eye a few yrs ago due to a weird disease. So I found her story particularly fascinating.
Loose association: for years the pawn shop by the Panchos and the Bingo place on Jacksboro HWY had three glass eyes for sale. I would forget about them in the years between visits and then those things would stop me dead in my tracks.
