Towards the end of my workout this morning I was able to see the Lunar Eclipse. I drove home and quickly woke the kids up so that they could see it.
I will be teaching about Jesus healing the blind tomorrow in chapel. Think I should pop my eye out and tell them how I am blind?
Keith and I are different in many ways, but one way is that I love to read and typically read Fiction. One of my favorites in the past year was The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. It looks like it will be a movie in 2019.
DaughterGeeding has a school project in which she has to research a family member who immigrated to the United States. Although Keith’s mom is no longer living, he has numerous documents, pictures, and stories to tell about her grandmother The project is due February 9 and she has been very excited to get started on it. She definitely is not a procrastinator.
Four years after my brother was born I came along. Surprise! I also have two older sisters.
Favorite candy: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
While Keith was still pretty out of it at the hospital I dressed him up in Baylor attire. Not really, but that would’ve been funny.
BoyGeeding has a toy turtle named Crackers. He got him and Buno (our live pet rabbit) to have a race the other day. Crackers won. Like someone on here said the other day….Be the turtle.
Before I went back to work today I made sure Keith had Herschel, all the remotes, his phone and a drink right next to him. And no, it wasn’t Fireball whiskey.
I played “Mother May I” with 13 four year olds today. They were learning about patience.
You never see kids playing “Red Rover” anymore.
Keith has been on a potato, egg and cheese taco kick lately.
While helping DaugherGeeding with her homework I hear “beep, beep, beep, beep”. I immediately jump up and run out to the garage to see LeafGeeding backing up and the garage door going down. I quickly run to the car and open the driver’s side door to stop Keith from driving. He said the paper work from the doctor said he could drive 10 days to 2 weeks after surgery and it was day 10. I did not think it was a good idea, but went ahead and let with him drive around the block with me in the passenger seat.
Keith thinks I’m weird that I eat cold leftovers–pizza, fried chicken, quesadillas. Both kids came downstairs as Keith was warming up some chicken tenders, grabbed a cold tender out of the box and started munching away. Proud Mom moment.
If only I could get Keith to pronounce syrup correctly.
Some of you are worried about Keith getting off of his pain medication. He has cut down his dosage and is lengthening the amount of time between taking it. If the pain becomes too uncomfortable he will take a pill.
BoyGeeding is having a hard time deciding what he would like to play in the spring. We let our children choose one extracurricular activity in the fall and spring. You may remember that he played flag football in the fall. The past two years he played Blastball and T-Ball in the spring with the same team and coach. This year will be Coach Pitch and unfortunately the coach will be coaching his daughter’s softball team. Without the same coach, which we really liked, and not having any of his friends play, it looks like he will not be playing baseball this year.
If you could meet either your ancestors or your descendants who would you choose?
Keith had 2 outings this weekend. The first one was to IHOP. It was pretty hard on him because we took LeafGeeding which was not as comfortable as our SUV. The second one was to Dairy Queen. That time we took the SUV, but was nearly in a wreck due to a red light. I was trying to be so careful with driving slow that as the light turned yellow I didn’t want to speed up to go through the light and didn’t slam on the brakes hard enough because I didn’t want to hurt Keith so I stopped pretty far over the line. The other drivers were thankfully paying attention and showed grace as I backed up out of the intersection.
The kids were so excited to show me their report card that they pulled it out of their backpack as soon as I picked them up from school on Friday.
DaughterGeeding and I had to do some major cleaning in her room this weekend. Thankful that she was willing to give some things away and throw things away.
BoyGeeding is filled with such joy. He can be so goofy with his mannerisms that he just makes me smile. And he still wants to cuddle with me. I know that won’t last so I will take it every chance I get.
Remember elementary school talent shows? When I was in first grade, two other friends and I did a twirling routine, but it was really just standing up on stage making up something as we went along. I think I hit one girl in the chin and didn’t realize it until we were finished. DaughterGeeding and BoyGeeding are thinking about being in their upcoming school talent show. What is their talent? Why singing a U2 song of course!
I lead chapel at the preschool where I work. Last week a 3 year old boy asked what was God’s phone number. No need for a phone number-you can talk to Him anytime and anywhere.
Overall, Keith has been recovering well, but yesterday was a bit of a setback.
He’s a bit frustrated how he feels loopy and out of focus all the time due to the painkillers. He’d like to stimulate his mind or get engaged in a book or a Netflix series, but he’ll quickly lose track of what’s going on or will fall asleep.
He’s more comfortable laying on his side than his back.
He now refers to his walker as Herschel and I’ll catch him having conversations with him, most peaceful. He refers to his back brace as a corset and keeps teasing me about him getting a set of Boudoir photos with it as a gift for Valentine’s day.
I love my man and all, but he annoyingly will leave cabinet doors open and not put the toilet seat down. GRRR!
It’s a bit sad to hear about the Toys/Babies r Us store closings. When pregnant with DaughterGeeding, the employees were a wealth of information on products and answering questions. It was much better speaking to them and comparing products in person that relying on some product page or online review.
One way being married to Keith has changed me is to look at things from different perspectives.
On the way to school in the mornings, DaughterGeeding provides live weather reports and BoyGeeding will provide the traffic.
I’m thinking about dying my hair all grey, Keith is encouraging me.
The Texas town of Italy has been in the news. About half the reporters will correctly pronounce it correctly – Italy (/ˈɪtli/ IT-lee, unlike the country Italy).
A few of my coworkers have provided meals for us this week which has been very helpful.
Keith gave me an Instant Pot for Christmas. To be honest, I wasn’t too crazy about the gift when I opened it. I thought, “Great. Now I have to cook.” Now, I really like it and am enjoying trying new things.
Keith helps out with household chores like laundry and cleaning our bathroom.
I highly recommend watching Black Mirror on Netflix.
I graduated with 135 in my class. My nephew who attends the same high school has 294 in his class.
Having lost both of his parents, Keith knows how important it is for me to spend with my family.
