Bag of Randomness for Thursday, April 7, 2022

  • I think I see either a Star Wars storm trooper or Darth Vader on those bricks.
  • Just when I thought things were getting better co-parenting with the ex, it all just falls apart again. She claims I’m not being flexible, but I don’t believe she’s taking the time to hear me out and understand things from my perspective and the precedent she set with how she alienated the children from me. A month ago, she asked if I would take our daughter out of school for a dentist appointment, which is scheduled for today. But last night she emailed to say she didn’t want my help and will do it herself. And she won’t allow me to pick her up from practice anymore. At least she emailed me about it the night before. You may recall she once cancelled an orthodontist appointment the morning of the appointment and didn’t tell our daughter. Our daughter told her teacher earlier in the day she would be leaving early, and when I didn’t show to pick her up, she thought her father forgot about her. The ex never took the time to explain the situation to our daughter until at least a week after the event. It’s hard to believe the person I trusted the most used to be so kind and warm-hearted. I suspect she’s doing what her mother and sister are telling her to do, as she’s always been impressionable and sought their approval. While she thinks she is punishing me, what she really is doing is hurting her children, and her relationship with them.

      • There are times I’m sad at what it has revealed about me, but or the most part, I feel I can hold my chin up high.
    • I fear this divorce is going to define me.
    • The ex was worried the children would hear us fighting at night. Recently, BoyGeeding told me he has trouble sleeping at night because his sister and mother are always fighting at bedtime. The ex seems to be the common denominator.
    • It’s been a tough sixteen months. I’ve learned and grown so much, and it has been painful. I’m just wondering how much more I’m about to know and suffer through.
