  • Jerry Jones had one heck of a birthday yesterday with that tremendous win.  It’s still a long season, and you are going to win some you’re not suppose to and lose some that you are expected to win, but so far I think all Cowboys fans like what we see compared to previous years.  When you take into consideration they were down 10-0, it is pretty impressive.
  • Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey is now the NFL’s all time most accurate kicker.  After his successful 56-yard field goal a tweet from a friend reminded me that it wasn’t too long ago the Cowboys wanted to keep two kickers over concern of his leg strength.  Bailey, by the way, came from a high school with no goal posts.
  • Jason Garrett stated one thing he learned from working with Nick Saban during their short time together in Miami was to just focus on the play at hand and not worry about the score, if you do than, you play with less pressure and more success.  Some of that might actually be running off on this team.
  • Philadelphia Eagles fans have a bad reputation, and stealing an artificial leg isn’t going to help.
  • Yesterday morning we caught the news conference of the local hospital employee that has tested positive for Ebola and Mayor Mike Rawlings made mention that reverse 911 calls were being made.  WifeGeeding may have been a little sleep deprived because she was wondering why people were dialing 119.
  • Not that I’m complaining, but I get a kick out of girls will look for the tiniest drop in temperature to pull out the boots.  They were in full force yesterday.
  • The season premiere of ‘The Walking Dead’ was everything I could ask for in a season premiere.  Man, the opening was some pretty gruesome and gory stuff, even for that show.
  • BoyGeeding was chasing an imaginary bad guy around yesterday with a toy chainsaw.  When WifeGeeding told him it was nap time he put down the chain saw and yelled, “Bye bye, bad guy.  I go take a nap now.  I chase you later.”
  • The ‘Hollywood Game Night’ skit on SNL was basically a recreation of their ‘Jeopardy!’ skit.  – the game show hosts get easily frustrated with the stupidity of their celebrity guests.  SNL did have a very poignant tribute moment showing an old clip of Jan Hooks and Phil Hartman.
  • I usually love Southwest Airlines commercials, but the one with the closeup of all their employee faces really bothers me.  Lets pan back on that camera a little, you’re in my personal space.
  • The Wright Amendment has now expired and hopefully the expanded routes between two airports will open up competition and drive down prices.  Last night WFAA mentioned that at one time Love Field was the nation’s sixth busiest airport and when DFW was opened, was the world’s largest.  They also stated when DFW first opened, Love Field was so dead it had an ice rink and video arcade inside.  I had no idea.
  • Key and Peele were guests on Letterman’s Friday show.   They made some tweets leading up to the event on how much this moment meant to them, and you could see absolute joy on their faces as they walked on stage to shake Dave’s hand.
  • A sports anchor was providing a highlight of the West Virginia and Texas Tech game and stated it was the Heartthrob Bowl because of the attractiveness of both head coaches.  I’ve heard lots of talk about the attractiveness of Coach Bro, but I really don’t get the reference to the thinly haired Dana Holgorsen.
  • I will neither confirm nor deny that I have a pair of Guess jeans from high school that I plan on fitting in again after losing a significant amount of weight.
  • I gave up listening the DFW’s most popular Christian radio station KLTY many moons ago, but it’s still on one of our presets.  While channel surfing I landed on the station and they were promoting a Sen Ted Cruz and Sean Hannity event for their sister station 660 AM The Answer.  I actually had no idea they’re sister stations until hearing that commercial and doing a little research, and I don’t like the idea of mixing the message of Christ with political talk.
  • Gillian Anderson did another Reddit AMA yesterday and upon earning there was going to be a new Ghostbusters film with an all female cast she started to campaign pretty hard for a role.
  • Today’s date is a big day for X-Files fans.
  • An interesting quote from the FBI director’s ’60 Minutes’ interview, “James Comey: I believe that Americans should be deeply skeptical of government power. You cannot trust people in power.”
  • This Picture of Boston, Circa 1860, Is the World’s Oldest Surviving Aerial Photo
  • Here’s a nice little story on how a Ford concept car was sold for a dollar and later became the Batmobile on the 60’s television show.
  • Bob The Builder got a makeover, and some folks aren’t happy.
  • Police sorry for telling wrong family of son’s death
  • A St. Paul Parks and Recreation employee has filed a claim against the city for damages she caused to her personal car while driving a rented city van.
  • MIT students predict Mars One colonists will suffocate in 68 days
  • I’m surprised I’ve never seen this photo beforeAttorney General Robert F. Kennedy is comforted by two of his children here, on the lawn of his home, today after he had been notified of the assassination of his brother, President John F. Kennedy
