Ugh. This is the kind of mess I grew up with. Lots of screaming, running around, and yelling cliches without ever really having a discussion of the gospel or Christ. But hey, everybody got really "fired up" because we "had church." We knew we did because the preacher got all loud and sweaty.
Don't miss this, and it triggers bad memories. It also gives me sorrow for those who are stuck there wishing they could leave, but fearing to do so because failure to keep attending that one faith (or even that particular congregation) will result in eternal damnation to hell. Mind control and spiritual abuse, all in the name of "God."
