I didn’t believe DaughterGeeding when she told me the new student in her class is named “Mommy.” Well, it turns out the new student is an Asian girl in which her names phonetically sounds like “Mommy”, but of course it’s spelled different.
WifeGeeding and I are adamant about our kids using manners such as “yes ma’am” and “no sir” when speaking to adults. But we differ having them say that to us. She prefers it, but I feel it’s too formal to use for family. However, “yes, Dad” is preferable.
I think the only proper way for a college coach to leave one job for another is to first inform the university president and athletic director, personally inform the team, and then the public – no exception.
I don’t like it when a national magazine like ‘Sports Illustrated’ or ‘Time’ does regional covers, it kinda cheapens the “being on the front cover” experience.
Yahoo! has been working hard at trying to make itself hip again and attract new users. It doesn’t help when you create a new technology reporting site and there’s a review of it as being focused on catering to old people. And even though I don’t consider myself out and that out of touch with all things tech, I did find their Bitcoin article informative and easy to read as it was written in a dumbed-down fashion.
WifeGeeding got caught up with ‘Downton Abby’ last night. That show starts up with the ‘Masterpiece Theater’ playing of a trumpet, and my first thought is, I wish I could fart so eloquently like that.
It was a bit surprising seeing how much the boy in ‘Modern Family’ has aged watching the first episode of the new year last night.
I like Washington tell-all books, but I think they should be released after the administration he or she was serving in is no longer in office, or at least the last remaining months.
There seems to be more momentum than ever for a high speed rail system from Dallas to Houston, but I don’t see our local airline companies letting that happen easily. For instance, Southwest offers about 25 flights from Dallas to Houston daily, I don’t think they want to lose any of that revenue. I also remember reading in the book Nuts!about a shareholder talking to Herb Kelleher concerned about how much lower their fairs were between Texas cities compared to the other airlines. Herb had to convince the shareholder Southwest wasn’t competing against the other airlines at the time but the business traveler willing to drive the distance.
