Bag of Randomness

  • I woke up earlier than normal yesterday and caught the Musers on KTCK The TICKET talking about my home town of Mineral Wells and the Baker Hotel.  George appears to have a bit of a fascination with the Baker and had dreams of buying and renovating it.  The trio seemed to thing the town only has a population of five to six thousand, but I think in reality, it’s closer to sixteen thousand.”
  • History has it that President Truman changed the Seal of the President of the United States so that the eagle was now looking towards peace – “No longer was the symbolic representation of the United States looking toward the arrows or war, but to the olive branch of peace.”  For some reason this made me think of the churchy phrase, “Hate the sin, love the sinner,”  It seems like the emphasis is on hate first, and love second.
  • I’m annoyed when the press jumps the gun on a story to try to be first but to only get it wrong.  The sad part is, this is just something we will have to live with, but for that reason, I usually don’t get engaged into something until some time has passed by.
  • Unless you are left handed, driving a car with the driver’s seat on the left side would be kind of awkward changing the air and radio, though some of those features are now on the steering wheel.
  • We know the staff at our local Braum’s very well and since BoyGeeding started to walk, the crew wanted to see him perform thisnew talent.  But there was a bit of irony in the air . . . as he walked for them for the first time and as they cheered him on, a very elderly woman in a wheelchair being pushed by her daughter crossed his path.  The look on her face was a bit moving, it seemed she longed for the days that she had the ability to walk and perhaps took her youth for granted.  Maybe I’m looking to much into what happened, but it just stopped me down for a bit.
  • The Milwaukee Brewers one-upped the Yankees by honoring Boston singing the Cheers theme.
  • I caught the end of Forrest Gump recently.  If you recall, Forrest and Little Forrest are waiting for the school bus.  I wonder if Forrest was at all concerned with Little Forrest being able to find a seat, like in the beginning when all the kids but Jenny said their seat was taken.
  • Cars are shipped much different today
  • The Irony Lady’s granddaughter is a local product and after her reading at her grandmother’s funeral, she’s now Internet famous.  I found her to be exceptionally poised and composed, graceful and elegant.
  • An app for those that live in Iceland and are looking for love – Helpful New App Keeps People From Sleeping With Their Cousins
  • Pa. Lieutenant Governor Candidate Kicked Out of Christian Band for Supporting Gay Marriage

  • A woman once struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and more in succession.
  • The relationship with the couple in ‘The Americans’ is a bit predictable, you know where it’s going, but I like the tension between the two KGB ladies.

Can you just imagine the wall to wall hysteria if Obama changed the seal instead of Truman?

I really like Annet Mahendru that plays Nina on The Americans. She had a bit part in Entourage.

I think you mean a right hand drive. I have a Suzuki Carry that is right hand drive and the only thing I get confused is are the wipers and turn signals. They are inverted on the steering column. If my wipers are on high, I'm turning left.

Here's what's weird about your comment of cars being shipped differently today. I'm pretty sure those are 1975 Chevy Vegas and they look brand new.
