This year’s edition of “Yule Log,” the U.S. television special featuring a roaring fire and Christmas carols, will air in 3D, its producers said Wednesday.
The free festive program is to be offered on Comcast, Cox Communications, Cablevision, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks Systems.
“Everyone loves the televised ‘Yule Log,’ a longtime holiday tradition that brings a special glow to many homes,” a news release announcing the program said. “Cable raised the bar a few years ago with the first high-definition crackling fire. Now this year for the first time, many systems are also showing the ‘Yule Log’ in 3D, in addition to high definition and standard definition.”
I was pretty surprised at just how long this has been going on: While the original televised “Yule Log” has been airing on broadcast TV since 1966, iN DEMAND said its version for cable viewers was produced in hi-def starting in 2002.
