Bag of Randomness

  • I haven’t edited or Photoshopped any pictures in a while, but after yesterday’s loss, I came up with that image above.  I wonder if it will make the rounds on the Internet.
  • The game was lost at the line of scrimmage for the Cowboys.  And man, you can certainly tell the Vikings were watching a lot of film on the Cowboys – they saw every delayed hand-off coming.
  • I hope Jason Garrett gets an offer to go elsewhere.
  • It would have been funny to seen Prince wearing a Favre jersey.
  • Speaking of Favre, he looked fantastic and he placed the ball a few times yesterday that I thought were just jaw-dropping.
  • A little before kickoff a friend mentioned he read a stat that when a team wins big in the Wild Card round, they tend to get blown out the next round.
  • I listened to a little bit of the game on the radio, and the announcers seemed to think the Vikings were running up the score towards the end of the game.
  • Every team I picked to win this weekend lost.
  • Next season isn’t even going to be worth watching considering how tough of a schedule they have.
  • OK, that was a bit of a knee-jerk reaction.
  • If the Cowboys would have won the Super Bowl this year, the NFL season would have started and ended in Dallas (Arlington) next year – as champions the Cowboys would have held traditional Thursday night opener and the Super Bowl will be played here next year.
  • I recently read that Jerry is going to build a new indoor practice facility soon.  That’s a good thing considering they have had to practice at two high schools and the new stadium during inclement weather, but he really has no choice as it was something that he’s contracted to do with the Super Bowl coming to DFW next year – an indoor practice facility is required to be at Valley Ranch for the NFC should there be inclement weather.
  • I think the team being force to practice at the new place may have contributed to two wins this year, and it’s something I’m surprised more teams don’t do, actually practice at the place they play their games in.  And since they are playing in an actual new facility, it really benefits the team to become familiar with their new environment.
  • Five years ago NBC made the decision to try to keep Conan on NBC by having him take over The Tonight Show.  At the time, it appeared Leno was OK with the decision;otherwise, he would have negotiated with the network to stay on as host and avoid any transition.  As time got closer, Leno decided that he wasn’t ready to leave late night, and tried this Jay Leno Show as an experiment, while handing over The Tonight Show telling Conan how happy he was to do so and how sad he was that friendships were lost the last time there was a transition.  I thought it was cool of Leno and NBC to try something new in the earlier timeslot, but I don’t like the idea of Leno getting his old show back since he planned on stepping down anyways.  Conan’s numbers were hurt by a poor Leno show, which hurt local news, which in turn hurt any lead in numbers.
  • WifeGeeding is officially halfway through her pregnancy in terms of her due date.
  • I think the reason reporters are able to get into Haiti easier than everyone else is that they are taking small aircraft which are easier to land.
  • It was amazing and heart-wrenching watching 60 Minutes last night as a bulldozer was moving piles of dead bodies into mass graves in Haiti.
  • I watched Inglourious Basterds over the weekend, I think that just might be my favorite Quentin Tarantino film – unique, original, different, not really predictable, and well acted.  Oh, and lot of violence.
  • I also watched an episode of Meteorite Men on the Science channel.  Basically, as you can probably guess, it’s two guys that find meteorites.  It was interesting to see them find and uncover things that have been buried underground for thousands of years (some over 200 lbs), and be the first humans to ever see or touch that particular object.

Love the Photo Shopped photo. I'll do my part and share it on my site later today. I have some Philly sports bloggers that may pick up on it. Hopefully it helps you out!

Jerry Jones hired Jason Garrett before he hired Wade so I can’t really blame the unimaginative offense on Wade. That delayed hand-off play doesn’t fool anyone anymore. For most of the game it appeared that the Cowboys broadcast to the Vikings what offensive play they were calling before the snap. I don’t guess Garrett will get to any many offers. You’d think Jay Leno, with several million dollars accrued over the years, would just gracefully step aside. Still I can’t feel too sorry for Conan; he’ll probably snag $25 – $40 million to just go away and end up with a similar show on another network. The news media in Haiti keeps reporting that they can’t figure out why help is not getting distributed to those in need. You’d think by now they’d have figured it out: No One Is in Charge! I still really miss MST 3000

"Every team I picked to win this weekend lost." I am not a football fan but I have heard these words 4 times today. First time from my step father, 2nd time in the car from a DJ on the way to work, 3rd time from a co-worker and now from you.
