The Final 100 Days of the Bush Presidency
This Blog will chronicle the final 100 days of the Bush Presidency. After 7 years and 265 days in office the Bush Legacy is all but complete. The question is will he use his final days in office to repair any of the damage he has caused, or will it be more of the same?
1) Great idea! Look forward to watching this theme develop. These are indeed historic times: the country at war on two fronts and the world’s economy collapsing. The first thing I would note is that it’s appears that for the near future Henry Paulson is running the country. A few weeks ago Paulson argued that he needed $700 billion to purchase toxic loans from banks and investment firms. He said he needed to spend this money quickly with no questions asked. Now that he has received that mandate, the approach is changing and he will instead invest in banks rather than purchase their bad debt. This makes more sense, but the essence of the rescue plan has changed in less than a week. For the time being, Paulson is attempting to save the economy and coordinate the effort worldwide while President Bush is merely hanging on.
2) Wonder where President Bush will live when he gets down here? I would think he will have to have a new home picked out within the next 30 – 45 days.
