Family Continues Road Rrip After Grandma Dies

A Hillsboro family continued a cross-country RV trip after their 79-year-old matriarch died of renal failure in Wyoming, according to Hillsboro police.

The trip to Arkansas and back was intended to let the dying grandmother visit relatives for the last time. A doctor there told them the woman had about a week to live, and said they should just keep on driving if she died along the way, said Hillsboro Police Department Lt. Mike Rouches. She died Friday or Saturday.

The family called the police Sunday, because they weren’t sure they’d done the right thing, he said.
