Vacation Almost Over

First off, I want to thank everyone who contributed to the latest BON 5 Word Collaborative Story.  You guys and gals crack me up.  And it was even touching that it was personalized with some of my likes and dislikes.  Sometimes I just want to give up blogging altogether, but when I see I actually have somewhat of a personal relationship with you folks, it makes it worthwhile.  And to be honest, blogging has become such a part of my life it was really hard not to make a post everyone once in a while during my vacation.

So what have I been doing on my vacation?  Did I travel, visit a museum, go to the lake?  Nope, I continued to work on that gosh darn fence.  You got it, I really know how to live it up.  I’m probably about 75% complete, and would probably be finished if it wasn’t for all the rain North Texas has been getting this summer – it’s unreal.

Some of you may have noticed this little icon under the current poll.

It’s a little experiment that I decided to start after running across an old box I had stored away.  Inside that box were some CD’s I made when Napster was sharing tunes free and legal.  There was one CD that I made for a road trip that I really liked, and I thought I would create BON Radio with it by streaming the music.  It’s music you wouldn’t guess that I listen to, for instance, there’s not one U2 song on that CD.  But you will find Etta James, Eva Cassidy, Frank Sinatra, Jon Denver, Jars of Clay, Rich Mullins, and some praise and worship tunes.  Fun stuff for those of you stuck in cubes all day.

If you are concerned whether or not what I’m doing is legal, I did my research first with copyright protection since I certainly don’t want to be in any legal hot water.  Not only is the music I’m using is now updated and formatted with DRM (Digital Rights Management), but since the music is being streamed, it cannot be downloaded.  With that said, I’m not a lawyer and I could have misinterpreted the law.  So if a lawyer from the music industry tells me to take down BON Radio, that’s what will happen.  But for now, it’s a fun little experiment.

I’m not sure how often I’ll update the playlist, probably as much as I update that current poll, which means not often.  And I may actually take requests.  But one thing is for certain, you will not find any country music unless it’s on the lines of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Patsy Cline.  That new country stuff causes constipation.

Crazy! We just heard a dream/vision from one of the ladies at Kansas City’s House of Prayer and she spoke that snow and heavy rain was coming (this was in April). The snow was to remind up of purity and righteousness and the rain to remind us of grace. There was more to it, but to know there are heavy rains out there is pretty cool! That night she shared, it snowed in Kansas City…in APRIL!

Anyway – country does NOT cause constipation…
