What is a prayer cloth? In Acts 19:11-12, it speaks of how cloths (aprons and handkerchiefs) were touched to Peter and Paul and taken back to the sick who were often cured of their ills. It says that “God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul; so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.” Prayer cloths are sacramentals.
How do I pray with a prayer cloth? In many places, the custom exists to place the prayer cloth on a special table and to place petitions on the cloth as well as pictures of our loved ones and those in need of spiritual or physical healing. The prayer cloth may also be placed directly on the sick person or held while praying. Prayer cloths can be used for the dying, the ill, the aged, the lonely and fearful, cures of all kinds, conversions, consolations of soul and body, family difficulties, burials, calamities, special occasions, and devotional praying.
