While many school districts move forward following the Easter break, one local district unexpectedly remained closed for today.
Today’s classes were canceled in Bay City, and this afternoon a criminal investigation is underway. Flat tires on buses are the reason why.
When transportation officials came into work today they noticed flat tires on every bus. Some are calling this a prank that’s gone too far.
Eighty buses were damaged. “The front tire on each of the buses had the air released, which obviously put us at a situation where we couldn’t drive our buses today,” Wierda said.
Classes were cancelled. The tire valve stems were removed, quickly deflating the tires. This act of vandalism has closed the district, and opened up a criminal investigation.
