Fake Breasts Start in Texas

The recent FDA approval of silicone implants — ending a 14-year virtual ban — has far-reaching ramifications in Texas, home to the nation’s only breast implant manufacturing facility and anecdotally known as one of the augmentation capitals of the United States.

    Might as well. That way they don’t have to travel so far to get to their new owner.

    In the early 90’s I saw many (several hundred?) patients with, what we called then, adjuvant breast disease, a systemic disorder caused by diffuse silicone gel after an implant burst.

    Buyer beware.
