Bag of Randomness

• I was really concerned that something bag was going to happen at Sochi, thankfully it went rather well.  Glad to see the Russians had a sense of humor with the closing ceremonies.
• If you thought reporters at the Winter Olympics liked to focused on athletes mourning recent deaths, it was a common theme – A running spreadsheet of athletes at the Sochi Olympics who have been associated with the death of someone
• That NBC special Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan was interesting, and Kerrigan was extremely understanding, forgiving, and complimentary of Harding.
• Random crazy Olympics thought – There should be no Summer or Winter games, but an Indoors and Outdoors games.
• Okay, I love ‘House of Cards’, it’s one of the greatest shows one can currently watch, but something happens in Season 2 Chapter 11 that was so far out there, so unneeded, I kind of felt it jumped the shark and left feeling extremely disappointed after viewing that episode.
• Typewriters are still being sold, and a new one can cost you about $176.  Why the typewriter reference?  It’s an homage to a ‘House of Cards’ episode.  Speaking of which, I just finished the second season.  As I promised, no spoilers, but I do think season one was better but it’s hard to surpassed the first episode of season two.
• Since the last episode of season three of ‘Sherlock’ aired in the U.S. three weeks ago I feel I can make comment without upsetting anyone.  But just to be safe, I’ll still be a little vague.  I think in season four, we’ll find out the mastermind behind everything will be this guy.
• There was an “epic” party in Dallas on Saturday that had appearances from Vanilla Ice, Tone-Loc, Young MC, Rob Base, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
• I have a friend that is a university athletic trainer, he gets really upset if anyone only refers to people in his trade as “trainer” since there are many types of trainers, such as horse trainers, etc – Fired Miami Dolphins trainer wins NFL trainer of the year award
• Signing Jason Collins to a ten day NBA contract seems like a publicity stunt, especially with all the news of Michael Sam at the NFL combine.
• Anderson Cooper interviewed Liam Neeson on ’60 Minutes’ and they talked about the death of his wife who died of head trauma.  They brought up the term lucid interval, which is something I recall my mother going through when she suffered and died from a massive head injury from a fall down our stairs.  Neeson also said one person that comforted him the most was Bono.

• Family Research Council’s Executive Vice President William (Jerry) Boykin predicted the Son of God will have an AR-15 assault rifle at the Second Coming.
