- Tony Gwynn was just one of the really good guys of baseball, it was sad hearing of his passing. He thought chewing tobacco was the cause of his cancer, so I wonder if will actually affect anyone currently chewing or dipping tobacco. The Seattle Mariners had a nice tribute to Gwynn.
- Something struck me while watching the ‘CBS Evening News’ yesterday as they presented a team of correspondents about their top story. Holly Williams was reporting from northern Iraq, Clarissa Ward in Baghdad, and Elizabeth Palmer was in Syria – all were in combat areas wearing rough clothing. Major Garrett was reporting from the White House and David Martin from the Pentagon, both wearing suit and tie. Back in the day, you wouldn’t expect to see all foreign combat correspondents be female.
