DaughterGeeding Gets Her Ears Pierced

I use Google to back up all my mobile pictures and videos, and sometimes their Auto Awesome feature will create special pictures or videos with what was saved without affecting the original pics and vids.  I recorded about three small videos and took about four pictures of the ear piercing and to my surprise was a rather touching video set to music.  There’s a part with her and WifeGeeding around the 20-second mark that I found quite touching.

The boy in the yellow shirt is her cousin providing emotional support.

10 Things I Wish Everyone Knew About the Bible by Peter Enns

1. The Bible doesn’t answer all — or even most — of our questions.

2. The Bible isn’t like God’s version of Apple’s “Terms and Conditions” agreement.

3. The Bible isn’t a sourcebook for fighting culture wars.

4. The Bible doesn’t guarantee “success in life.”

5. The Bible is open to multiple interpretations, not just one meaning.

6. The Bible invites debate.

7. The Bible doesn’t “record” history objectively but interprets it.

8. The Bible was written by Jews (and at least one Gentile in the New Testament) in ancient times.

9. The Bible isn’t the center of the Christian faith.

10. The Bible doesn’t give us permission to speak for God.

Polyphonic overtone singing

overtone singing is a voice technique where it seems like one person sings two notes at the same time.
You can sing the overtone scale on one fundamental. Another fundamental has its own overtone scale, so in order to have more overtones to sing nice melodies, you can use different fundamentals and change them while singing.

the video is live, and every human being is able learn overtone singing 😉 ….well…not starting directly with polyphonic overtone singing…. but singing overtones on one fundamental isn’t too hard.
