Glen Campbell shares poignant last music video “I’m Not Gonna Miss You

Glen Campbell has shared the video for “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” a track that the country music great previously revealed will be the final song he ever records as he battles Alzheimer’s Disease. The ballad’s devastating lyrics detail Campbell’s struggle with the illness, but juxtaposed with the music video, which utilizes personal home video and performance footage from throughout Campbell’s life, the result is a truly poignant experience.

  • Jerry Jones had one heck of a birthday yesterday with that tremendous win.  It’s still a long season, and you are going to win some you’re not suppose to and lose some that you are expected to win, but so far I think all Cowboys fans like what we see compared to previous years.  When you take into consideration they were down 10-0, it is pretty impressive.
  • Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey is now the NFL’s all time most accurate kicker.  After his successful 56-yard field goal a tweet from a friend reminded me that it wasn’t too long ago the Cowboys wanted to keep two kickers over concern of his leg strength.  Bailey, by the way, came from a high school with no goal posts.
  • Jason Garrett stated one thing he learned from working with Nick Saban during their short time together in Miami was to just focus on the play at hand and not worry about the score, if you do than, you play with less pressure and more success.  Some of that might actually be running off on this team.
  • Philadelphia Eagles fans have a bad reputation, and stealing an artificial leg isn’t going to help.
  • Yesterday morning we caught the news conference of the local hospital employee that has tested positive for Ebola and Mayor Mike Rawlings made mention that reverse 911 calls were being made.  WifeGeeding may have been a little sleep deprived because she was wondering why people were dialing 119.
  • Not that I’m complaining, but I get a kick out of girls will look for the tiniest drop in temperature to pull out the boots.  They were in full force yesterday.
  • The season premiere of ‘The Walking Dead’ was everything I could ask for in a season premiere.  Man, the opening was some pretty gruesome and gory stuff, even for that show.
  • BoyGeeding was chasing an imaginary bad guy around yesterday with a toy chainsaw.  When WifeGeeding told him it was nap time he put down the chain saw and yelled, “Bye bye, bad guy.  I go take a nap now.  I chase you later.”
  • The ‘Hollywood Game Night’ skit on SNL was basically a recreation of their ‘Jeopardy!’ skit.  – the game show hosts get easily frustrated with the stupidity of their celebrity guests.  SNL did have a very poignant tribute moment showing an old clip of Jan Hooks and Phil Hartman.
  • I usually love Southwest Airlines commercials, but the one with the closeup of all their employee faces really bothers me.  Lets pan back on that camera a little, you’re in my personal space.
  • The Wright Amendment has now expired and hopefully the expanded routes between two airports will open up competition and drive down prices.  Last night WFAA mentioned that at one time Love Field was the nation’s sixth busiest airport and when DFW was opened, was the world’s largest.  They also stated when DFW first opened, Love Field was so dead it had an ice rink and video arcade inside.  I had no idea.
  • Key and Peele were guests on Letterman’s Friday show.   They made some tweets leading up to the event on how much this moment meant to them, and you could see absolute joy on their faces as they walked on stage to shake Dave’s hand.
  • A sports anchor was providing a highlight of the West Virginia and Texas Tech game and stated it was the Heartthrob Bowl because of the attractiveness of both head coaches.  I’ve heard lots of talk about the attractiveness of Coach Bro, but I really don’t get the reference to the thinly haired Dana Holgorsen.
  • I will neither confirm nor deny that I have a pair of Guess jeans from high school that I plan on fitting in again after losing a significant amount of weight.
  • I gave up listening the DFW’s most popular Christian radio station KLTY many moons ago, but it’s still on one of our presets.  While channel surfing I landed on the station and they were promoting a Sen Ted Cruz and Sean Hannity event for their sister station 660 AM The Answer.  I actually had no idea they’re sister stations until hearing that commercial and doing a little research, and I don’t like the idea of mixing the message of Christ with political talk.
  • Gillian Anderson did another Reddit AMA yesterday and upon earning there was going to be a new Ghostbusters film with an all female cast she started to campaign pretty hard for a role.

  • I didn’t catch much of the Indy/Houston game but I saw Indy execute two great plays in a row.  Indy scored a field goal and on the ensuing kickoff they noticed Houston wasn’t covering midfield, so the kicker onsides kick it right down the middle and is able to cover it himself, totally exposing Houston.  On the next play the Indy receiver dives to catch the ball on the five.  The defensive back doesn’t touch the receiver who gets up and walks into the endzone for a touchdown.
  • One more thought about the ’30 for 30′ short on the Herschel Walker trade.  I wonder if Jimmy Johnson picked up the phone and contacted the ’30 for 30′ guys after that big piece on Jerry Jones aired on ‘Outside the Lines’ where Jerry dogged Johnson.  I know Jimmy is proud of his work, but it seems like he almost went out of his way to show what “he” did.
  • Ed Helms tweeted a picture of himself with Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo.  I couldn’t stop staring at Chase’s very chubby looking neck.
  • Something seems fishy with that Dallas deputy that tested negative for Ebola, I just get this feeling he’s wanting media attention.  He was once interviewed by  KTVT in 2008 when he was a recruit trainer and later fired for an on-duty injury, eventually becoming a deputy.  His wife was on network yesterday and was rightly upset she only found out about her husband negative Ebola test through the news, but noted how he complained about going into the apartment unprotected.  His son also seemed a little too well spoken and prepared to talk to the media at his front door when he initially went to seek medical attention.  If you have Ebola and was concerned about contamination when entering an apartment, why would you possibly expose civilians at a CareNow (basically a doctor-in-a-box clinic) instead of going straight to an ER, or better yet, calling an ambulance?
  • KTVT was also reporting that the Ebola scare might be to blame for a low attendance for the Texas/OU game at the State Fair, stating that usually crowds of maroon and burnt orange are spotted on a Thursday night.  I think they are just trying to sensationalize things, those college kids don’t show up until Friday.  And if there’s a reason to blame any low attendance or energy, it’s because Longhorns don’t have a competitive team.
  • Texas/OU weekend will now start with a new tradition of fireworks shooting from Reunion Tower.
  • The Ebola victim’s family is using Pastor George Mason to communicate to the media, he was once the quarterback for the University of Miami (Florida) team back in late Seventies.

  • Funds approved – A 64-Mile Bike ‘Superhighway’ Will Connect Fort Worth To Dallas
  • Massive Marvel Comics theme park to move into Fair Park for three weeks in January
  • Amazon.com is going to open a physical store in NYC, which seem counterproductive to what it was created to do – online shopping.
  • It’s almost unthinkable that the Waldorf Astoria would be owned by a Chinese company, though “the deal includes a separate 100-year management contract with Hilton.”
  • If you are looking for something to do this weekend, my hometown of Mineral Wells is having the Crazy Water Festival and Dallas has the “The 5th Anniversary” Miss Texas Pole Star and Aerial Arts Competition 2014.  I know pole dancing is mostly associated with stripping, but it can be very artful.  I’ve been interested in it when I first saw this GIF of a clothed woman air walking.
  • I’d love to see Carol Burnett host SNL.
  • Thanks for the laughs, Jan Hooks.
  • I like Katy Perry and I’m looking forward to seeing her halftime performance at the Super Bowl.  When she was on College Gameday last week she was asked about the rumor and stated she was in talks but “I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl.”  Good for her.  The NFL was silly for asking artists to play.  Their halftime show use to be so bad that Fox got the bright idea of having “In Living Color” do their own halftime show and it was a success.  If the NFL is going to make artists pay, and can’t book a big enough artist, I can see Fox and other channels doing something similar like this again.
  • One of the Mavs talks a bit of smack – Chandler Parsons says Dallas is “nicer, cleaner” city than Houston
  • Even though the death occurred in 1925, you wouldn’t expect nothing but piles of wood in a casket after it was exhumed.
  • I think Samuel L. Jackson’s best work was in A Time to Kill.
  • Robert Duvall was on Letterman last night:
    • He share a story on how Marlon Brando on The Godfather, in the garden scene with Pacino, had cue cards taped all around because he didn’t know his lines.
    • In the last two late night guest appearances he’s been on, he’s brought up Wilford Brimley.
    • He didn’t have kind words for Dave’s soon to be replacement, which kind of made things awkward.
