  • The wound care doctor attached a wound vac to my infected incision. It feels a bit weird walking around with a medical device attached to me. • I briefly, but carefully, spoke with my ex at church. I tried to give her some insight regarding my health setbacks and complications. I told her I felt her main goal or endgame was to take the kids away from me entirely because of the aggressive way she started things off and her unwillingness to compromise, but now I’m thinking that might not totally be the case. Asked her specifically for mercy. Told her I am not at a place where I can totally take care of the kids right now because of my health, but it would be great to spend some afternoons and weekends with them. And, that I should have asked for her help sooner, like she has asked me for help with the kids from time to time. But, was worried she was going to use that to build a case to take the kids from my life. I told her, from a parental standpoint, I wanted to earn her trust, and for things to return to “normal.” The talk seemed to go over well. She said she wanted me to be a part of their lives. We’ll see, but she’s the type to strictly follow the advice of her lawyer.
