I was at a doctor’s office yesterday and spotted this 2023 Montgomery Ward catalog. Not only am I surprised they are still around, but question their strategy of publishing a Christmas catalog.
October 18 will always stand out to me because I started my first real job out of college on that date. It was at Fidelity Investments.
The wound care doctor attached a wound vac to my infected incision. It feels a bit weird walking around with a medical device attached to me. The incision was supposed to heal from the inside out, but there’s a concern it’s healing from the outside first. He was still able to stick a probe four centimeters into the wound. Thankfully, I was told I only have to go in twice a week instead of three times a week.
MLB is so much better to watch now that there’s a pitch clock.
I briefly, but carefully, spoke with my ex at church. I tried to give her some insight regarding my health setbacks and complications. I told her I felt her main goal or endgame was to take the kids away from me entirely because of the aggressive way she started things off and her unwillingness to compromise, but now I’m thinking that might not totally be the case. Asked her specifically for mercy. Told her I am not at a place where I can totally take care of the kids right now because of my health, but it would be great to spend some afternoons and weekends with them. And, that I should have asked for her help sooner, like she has asked me for help with the kids from time to time. But, was worried she was going to use that to build a case to take the kids from my life. I told her, from a parental standpoint, I wanted to earn her trust, and for things to return to “normal.” The talk seemed to go over well. She said she wanted me to be a part of their lives. We’ll see, but she’s the type to strictly follow the advice of her lawyer. A friend in a support group told me that lawyers often don’t do what’s best for the children, but do what they can to stretch things out and bill their clients.
For Texans, “the Midwest has emerged as popular recently because it is just by and large the most affordable region,” Hannah Jones, Realtor.com’s economic research analyst, told Insider. “We’re seeing this trend of buyers looking for affordability really explode.”
Thankfully, my neurosurgeon confirmed that I do not have a spinal fluid leak. Now that that is addressed, I bet the wound care doctor will attach a wound vac to my infected incision.
I don’t want to jinx things, but I think I’m slowly progressing to getting healthier and stronger, and not just in the physical sense.
Here’s something I never thought I’d hear. At church, a friend said I looked “thin.” Never in my life have I ever dreamed or been described as thin. I used to fluctuate from 225- 240 pounds. Now, I’m a little below 180 pounds. It’s hard to find anything to wear, but I don’t have the funds for a new wardrobe and I’m sure I will gradually gain weight again as my appetite increases. So, for the time being, I’m just going to wear clothes that are a little big for my frame.
NCAA football rules confuse me. While watching a North Carolina game, the announcers talked about Corey Gaynor playing in his seventh college season. I thought the most a student could play was only four years.
Unlike most college football fans, I don’t like it when the fans rush the field.
I’m not saying it’s forgiveness, but I’m slowly starting to understand things from my ex’s perspective.
