  • Having my eBay account hacked really has bothered me,  I think I’m actually going to change my passwords to all my accounts at least once a month.
  • A radiologist sent a bill in the mail and doesn’t accept any online payment, so I wrote a check, and without even thinking twice about it, I dated it with the correct year.
  • I keep a fine point Sharpie for the sole purpose of signing the back of new credit and debit cards.
  • I stayed in my upstairs office working a little later than normal and then the kids walked in ready to play.  I logged off my work computer almost instantly since there wasn’t anything pressing.
  • In that picture in the link above you’ll see that DaughterGeeding is dressed as Batman.  We’ve been watching a lot of the Batman television show from the 60’s, and when she play fights she’ll say “Bam! Pow! Smack!”  But yesterday she threw in, “SLICE! I’m gonna slice your eyeball!”  Hey kid, tap them brakes.
  • CBS11 will be looking for a new sports director as Babe Laufenberg couldn’t reach a new agreement with the station.  When he first started I thought he was horrible, but he certainly improved over the years.  Publicly he comes across as very friendly and personable, but in my one encounter with him at Reunion Arena he was a bit of a jerk that seemed full of himself.
  • Jason Garrett was a third string quarterback for the Cowboys and later became a head coach in the NFL.  Since Babe was a third string quarterback for the Cowboys, I bet he’s thinking he could do the same thing.
  • I bet Babe stays in the market, probably working for the Cowboys since he already does their radio broadcast, but I’m not sure how he’s gonna feel about the pay cut.
  • I don’t think Cowboys fans have fully forgiven him for his play against the Eagles back in 1990 in Bounty Bowl II when the Cowboys needed to win one of their final two games to reach the playoffs and he lost them both as he played for an injured Troy Aikman.  Laufenberg  completed 13 of 36 passes with four interceptions.  Okay, perhaps most Cowboys fans have forgiven him except for me and my good friend Bone.
  • I keep thinking about Ohio State QB Cardale Jones, the third stringer who won the three most important games of the season which ended in a championship.  It’s just a really good story for coaches to teach their players.  Sure, you may not be starting, or even be on the second string, but it’s important to continue to work hard because if the opportunity ever arises, it’s time to prove your worth.
  • What’s interesting about Cardale Jones is that he may not even be the starting QB next year, but at least he’ll get to compete with some solid stuff on his resume.  If I were him, I’d turn pro. He’d probably get drafted towards the end of the draft, but will start earning a paycheck, learn, and won’t have to worry about any drama back at OSU.
  • I always thought Sen Marco Rubio had an issue with his hair thinning on top, and a quick search on Google shows I wasn’t the only one and he freely admitted it back in 2012 – Yahoo NewsWashington Post.  But as of late, it seems a lot thicker.
  • For some reason Buzzfeed thought it was newsworthy to report that Sen Ted Cruz once was ticketed for having alcohol as a teen.  I really don’t understand what a common juvenile mistake has to do with anything about his character and the way he governs today.  If companies like Buzzfeed think this stuff is important, there’s no telling what politicians will have to go through ten or so years from now as “reporters” start looking at tweets and Facebook posts made during their youth.  Buzzfeed is a funny animal, they like pretending they are a respectable news source but will post stupid original content about women peeing standing up.
  • This article also lists the top 20 wealthiest members of Congress, and on that list, only one is from Texas, Rep Michael McCaul – It would take the combined wealth of more than 18 American households to equal the value of a single federal lawmaker’s household
  • Interesting George Lucas quote for you Star Wars fans – “The only thing I really regret about Star Wars is the fact I never got to see it – I never got to be blown out of my seat when the ship came over the screen. The next one, I’ll be able to enjoy it like anybody else.”
  • If I had a lot of financial wealth, instead of awarding scholarships, I’d give out something I refer to as post-scholarships.  Those funds would go to people who are already out of school and have been making student loan payments for at least three years, and their monthly loan payment is a significant portion of their monthly income.  The experience of being in the real world making student loan payments that seem forever to pay off and takes a huge chunk of your monthly income is different than the student getting free money to go to school.
  • As David Letterman is nearing his final show, his crew have been giving you a look behind the scenes on the web more and more.  For example, most of his pre-show talk to the audience is now available on YouTube.  Here’s on for ya.
  • GIF – That’s a lot of risk and effort to fix an AC unit.
  • Interesting BYU Study – When recess takes place before kids sit down to eat – instead of after – fruit and vegetable consumption increases by 54%.
  • In other Mormon related news – If a gay Mormon marries a woman, divorce is likely, study finds
  • Balloon message to dead father answered – Almost every year since her dad died of a brain aneurysm in 2010, 16-year-old Ashlynn Marracino has written him a letter on his birthday, January 6. But this year, she received an unexpected reply.
  • What happened to all the local earthquakes as of late?

  • And now we’re just down to three football games that matter.
  • Yesterday I got two emails from eBay stating my email and password had been changed.  Without clicking on any links in the email I tried to log into the website to no avail, so I called their customer service.  Without having to go through any numbered menu tree, a real live human being actually picked answered my call, which I found impressive.  After verifying me, it turns out someone changed my email to an aol.com address, and the rep quickly transferred me to the fraud department.  The whole thing was handled quickly and professionally, and I spent the rest of the afternoon updating all my usernames and passwords on various sites and checking for any fraudulent activity.
  • Later in the day, an email was sent to my GMail account from an aol.com address asking me to confirm that my GMail was my alternative email.  I ain’t got no AOL email address.  The email and links looked legit per what was in the hyperlink as I hovered above them, but I chose not to click them.
  • I’ve watched televised games of the Cowboys, the Super Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, and other games at the Death Star, but for some reason the field and venue never looked better last night.  Even the field looked so much better and greener than what we saw in the Cotton Bowl just a little over a week ago.
  • I was really looking forward to watching the Megacast Film Room broadcast of the game.  That’s the one with the two head coaches talking and analyzing during the game, but they used two windows on the screen and the larger window had the close up of the coaches and not the game.
  • It’s really crazy that the only wins, the only games played, for the Ohio State third string quarterback are championship games.
  • I don’t think there was any need for OSU to score that final touchdown, they should have just run clock.
  • There was lots of talk on Twitter about the ref looking a lot like Bob Newhart, that Bob Newhart even weighed in.
  • Without the new playoff, The Ohio State University probably would have finished the season ranked around four because of their “soft” schedule and ending the season with a third string quarterback.  And to think the majority of that team were freshmen and sophomores.
  • For the most part yesterday, it seemed like all Cowboys talk on The TICKET wasn’t whiny at all.  There was a lot of discussion about the Dez no catch, but it seemed more focused on accepting the rule and hoping it changes in the future.   And then it just seemed there was a lot of pride of the unexpected good season they provided us.
  • I got WifeGeeding and new iPhone 6 with Verizon and with the trade-in of her old phone, I was only out sixteen bucks.  She thought she had a defective phone because she had a hard time hearing the person on the other end.  Upon further inspection, she left the factory installed default cover on which was covering the speaker.  #WifeGeedingProblems
  • Last night David Muir of ABC News stated the families of each college player in the championship game was given up to $3000 to travel to the game.  I had no idea that could even happen.
  • Letterman’s final show will be May 20th, but strangely, his successor, wont’ air his first show until September 8th.  I wonder what’s going to fill that gap, Letterman repeats, guest hosts, Benny Hill?
  • I like concept cars because they look cool, I can’t stand them because they get my hopes up and the finished product is never as cool.
  • Arranged marriage? Nah – Flower girl and ring bearer get married 20 years later
  • Wichita Falls News – Camel tramples 2 people to death in Texas – I knew Wichita Falls was going through a severe drought, but had no idea that traded horses in for camels. 😉
  • New Avengers Trailer Arrives – Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer 2
  • Today’s dose of ‘MURICA!
  • I found this to be the most interesting thing about the new Buick convertible – Drivers will be able to lower the top in 17 seconds even while the car is moving at speeds up to 31 m.p.h
  • @darrenrovell [pic] – Oregon still has a buckeye tree on campus that was planted after losing a Rose Bowl bet in 1958
  • Funniest TCU related tweet from last night
  • Funniest SEC related tweet from last night
  • Lots of people fell for a Nike related tweet last night
  • 12-year old writes letter to all 32 NFL teams, only Panthers respond – Cade Pope, a 12-year old NFL fan, sent a letter to the owner of each of the NFL’s 32 teams about two weeks ago, asking for help deciding which team he should become a fan of. He has received only one response to date.
  • My blogging friend Barry over at LiberallyLean.com loves the college game, and I think one major reason is that he thinks the experience means more to the players.  I thought of him as I read this article about how the experience actually means more to the coach.
