We went to our local Vista Ridge Mall to visit “our” Santa last night. In the bottom picture, you can see him going over the Christmas lists they handed him. Santa told me that during the season, he usually loses about ten pounds because the suit is so warm, but he does his best to stay hydrated along with lots of vitamin C and B12.
Back in March, when he heard Vista Ridge Mall was facing foreclosure, our first thought was about this Santa. However, there was one new store in the mall, some kind of cat cafe. It looks like you can bring your cat in and drink coffee. But I also noticed the cutbacks in Christmas decorations. For instance, there was always a huge tree in the mall, but it’s no there this year. There used to be a bunch of poinsettias as well, but they are limited and are now artificial.
After visiting Santa, the kids played in the indoor play area. BoyGeeding walked over to me, pointed at a girl, and said, “Daddy, I really care for her. Do you think if I kiss her she will be my friend.” Hey kid, tap those breaks.
I’m surprised there are still stores, even seasonal, that specialize only in calendars. But then again, phone books are still around.
I’ve never played Cards Against Humanity, which can be downloaded for free, but it sure sounds fun.
