  • Miss Teen Frisco visited BoyGeeding’s preschool class to read a book. She asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up, and he said, “A candy taster.”
  • BoyGeeding also likes to wave at the trashmen when the come by. Yesterday one got out of his truck and gave him a package. Inside was toy garbage truck.
  • I bought a chainsaw pole tree trimmer as a way to save money and time trimming trees. I got carried away with all the tree trimming and now I have a plethora of limbs and branches sitting next to the house. I’m regretting the purchase of that tool, and at this point, would have rather paid to have the trees trimmed and all the stuff hauled off.
  • Adjusting to my new project has been more difficult than I thought, though in the long-term it seems to be better for my career. It also came with a change of job title and responsibilities, and more of a leadership role where I’m having to play a bit of politics and delegate responsibilities, which is harder than I thought. There’s no increase in pay, but I’m not complaining. I’m thankful to still be employed, work from home, and continue the great work/life balance.
  • The last two nights I’ve woken up at 4:30 AM and couldn’t go back to sleep.
  • I keep putting off the finishing touches on the newly tiled laundry room.
  • GIF – Golf bowling
  • I’m aware that the Russian return space capsule is similar to what the U.S. used before the shuttle, but I thought the bottom of the capsule, the heat shield, took most of the damage. But this image released from astronaut Scott Kelly’s return to Earth shows the sides get really charred as well.  Here’s an image of Apollo 11 floating at sea after re-entry. It’s beaten up, but not charred on the sides.
  • I’d like to see a remake of Brewster’s Millions with either Chris Rock of Kevin Hart.

  • Yesterday on BaD Radio, Dan was worried that his passport photo with long hair and his current short hair would cause issues traveling between the U.S. and Canada. If I didn’t have any problem traveling to Vietnam with short hair using my shoulder-length haired passport photo, he shouldn’t have any problem at all.
  • WifeGeeding teachers pre-school at a local church which is also a voting precinct. There was a lot of talk about people telling those outside that the church building is only to be used for Republican voting and Democrats needed to vote elsewhere. I think I hear of this everytime there’s an election.
  • GIF – I thought the process of making rips in jeans would be a lot more low tech.
  • NFL Coaches Meeting in 1963 – This was held in a ranch near Dallas. The last picture has all the coaches, such as Lombardi and Shula, wearing cowboy hats stepping on a fence with Landry holding a roap.
  • Buzzfeed – What Happens To Coins That Are Thrown Into Fountains? – A few highlights:
    • The lake at The Bellagio makes about $12,000 a year.
    • In 2014, the fountains in Disney World raised $18,000.
    • Chicago’s Buckingham Fountain only makes about $200 a year.
    • The Trevi fountain in Rome is insanely profitable. It can make $3,200 a day
  • Buzzfeed – This Guy’s Dog Was Killed By A Coyote So He Made A Crazy-Looking Vest To Protect Others
  • Mental Floss – 5 First Things Presidents Did in Office‏ – I’m surprised that I’ve never pondered what was the first bill signed into law until reading this article – “The first bill signed into law by Washington was “An Act to Regulate the Time and Manner of Administering Certain Oaths.” Among other things, the bill—the first ever passed by Congress—established the oaths of various political offices: “I, A. B., do solemnly swear or affirm (as the case may be) that I will support the Constitution of the United States.” It was a law built to last, and remains in effect to this day.”
