Her son plays on the junior varsity golf team for the school. She said he was riding the bus with the varsity team when he became the victim of a sports initiation hazing ritual.

She said the boy was called to the back of the bus by two older high school students and that they picked him up by his boxer shorts and held him upside down. She said that’s when the torment really began.

“It was so extreme it ripped his boxer shorts in two,” Carol said.

It was a sports initiation that Carol said involved giving the younger players what’s commonly called a wedgie.

Carol said the older boys also punched her son in the groin and stomach.

“He was bent over and couldn’t hardly walk. He cried for probably 30 minutes,” Carol said.

Two-year-old Flossie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cannot produce tears and her delicate eyes need protection from sunlight.

The illness – keratoconjunctivitis sicca and ichthyosiform – also means she suffers from itchy skin and has to wear pink pyjamas to stop her scratching.

ABC News’ Jennifer Parker Reports: In what is perhaps a new weapon in campaign digital media warfare, the MySpace page of presidential candidate Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., was hacked Tuesday.

“All I can say right now is that we’re investigating,” said Matt David, a spokesperson for McCain’s 2008 White House bid.

According to the webblog TechCrunch, which tracks new Internet products and sites, McCain’s MySpace page profile included a pranked letter on Tuesday morning that read: “Dear Supporters, Today I announce that I have reversed my position and come out in full support of gay marriage … particularly marriage between two passionate females.”
