100 Words That All High School Graduates — And Their Parents — Should Know

BOSTON, MA — The editors of the American Heritage® dictionaries have compiled a list of 100 words they recommend every high school graduate should know.

“The words we suggest,” says senior editor Steven Kleinedler, “are not meant to be exhaustive but are a benchmark against which graduates and their parents can measure themselves. If you are able to use these words correctly, you are likely to have a superior command of the language.”

Advertising Code Gone Wrong

There is a code written into a lot of articles we read from the web.  For instance, if there was a news article on Hawaii, a lot of times a program will scan the article, pick up on the key word “Hawaii” and will choose an advertisement to display on the page that relates to vacations in Hawaii.

Today there was an article on CNNSI.com about New England Patriots football player Marquise Hill who died in a jet ski accident.

Below his picture was a Sea-Doo advertisement
