How did R2-D2 Get His Name?

Rumor has it that George Lucas and a co-worker were editing American Graffiti, when a co-worker asked Lucas for “Reel Two, Dialog Two”, which is abbreviated “R2D2”. Lucas supposedly wrote down the abbreviation and used it as the name of the now famous droid in Star Wars.

Parent Blogger Upset At Target Ad

Amy Jussel, a mother that runs a blog named Shaping Youth, was offended by this ad found in Times Square.

She emailed Target asking for a comment she could post on her blog, but found that Target “Target does not participate with non-traditional media outlets.”

She’s not happy.
