Leg Lengthening Blog

A 29 year old woman kept a blog about her leg lengthening procedure for right leg. 

Why did she do such a thing?  Well, like myself, she has one leg that is longer than the other, and it caused her sever back and pelvis pain.  She explains herself more in her second entry.

First surgery date: May 30th, 2007
Time spent in the hospital: 3 days, 2 nights
Begin date of lengthening: June 4, 2007
Duration of lengthening period: 24 days
Amount lengthened: one angry inch (2.54 centimeters)
Amount of work missed: 5 weeks
Duration of consolidation period before weight transfer: 76 days
Length of Vicodin withdrawal: 7 weeks
Second surgery date: October 24, 2007
Total duration of fixation: 148 days

How did R2-D2 Get His Name?

Rumor has it that George Lucas and a co-worker were editing American Graffiti, when a co-worker asked Lucas for “Reel Two, Dialog Two”, which is abbreviated “R2D2”. Lucas supposedly wrote down the abbreviation and used it as the name of the now famous droid in Star Wars.
