  • Dr. King has been dead 40 years today, I wonder what he would have thought about current race relations.
  • Amazingly Dr. King has now been dead longer than he was alive. He did so much in only 39 years of life. Wow. He seemed so much older and wiser than a 39 year old.

Marriage Proposal Gone Very Wrong

LONDON (Reuters) – It is the one moment every man wants to get right — and which London floor-fitter Lefkos Hajji could hardly have got more wrong.

The luckless 28 year-old’s dreams of giving his sweetheart, Leanne, 26, the ultimate proposal have literally vanished into thin air.

Hajji, of Hackney, east London, had concealed a $12,000 engagement ring inside a helium balloon. The idea was that she would pop the balloon as he popped the question.

But as he left the shop, a gust of wind pulled the balloon from his hand and he watched the ring — and quite possibly the affections of his girlfriend — sailing away over the rooftops.

There’s no cheerleading in baseball!

Oh, I guess there actually is cheerleading in baseball; but it just doesn’t seem right.

I wonder if there are any other MLB teams with cheerleaders.

EDIT:  Found my answer:

There’s no room for cheerleading in baseball?  Well – that’s where you’re wrong – because there are at least 16 natural breaks in a baseball game, and you can only watch a variation of a Dot Race on the Jumbotron so many times.

And more importantly, because there are at least seven MLB teams who have some form of cheerleaders on the payroll.

That article doesn’t mention the seven teams, but a quick Google search helped me narrow it down to Florida, St Louis, and Cincinnati.
