U2 New Album News

From Rolling Stone:

In early December, Rolling Stone traveled to London to visit U2 in the studio as Bono and Co. worked on the upcoming No Line on the Horizon. The journey was as spellbinding and energizing as you might imagine, and you’ll be able to read all about it when our new issue hits newsstands on Wednesday, January 7th. To tide you over, here’s a track-by-track preview of 10 choice songs (and you can dig deeper into all our U2 coverage in our archive):

You can read the whole article here, but below are ten songs from the new album.  [Thanks, Nathan!]

Get On Your Boots
Stand Up Comedy
Crazy Tonight
Unknown Caller
Tripoli
Cedars of Lebanon
Magnificent
Moment of Surrender
Every Breaking Wave
No Line on the Horizon

But I noticed that the Wikiepedia entry for the album also lists Breathe and Winter.

Bag of Randomness

  • You know you are having a bad skiing vacation when . . .
  • It’s old news, but I just found out Kidd Kraddick divorced his wife of 18 years.  I didn’t see that one coming.
  • Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.  The first football game in the Cowboys’ new stadium is going to be between Oklahoma and BYU? Two non-local universities?  Really?  Are there that many O.U. grads and Mormons in the area?  What’s the connection?  I would rather it be a monster truck rally or Disney on Ice.
  • For the first time in my life I tried yogurt yesterday.  Yes, I’ve had the frozen soft serve kind that is similar to ice-cream, which I never liked, but I never had that “healthy” kind of yogurt.  I went with the Dannon Light & Fit blueberry.  Not bad.  I’m not saying I’ve been missing out on anything, but it isn’t bad and I might just grow to like it just like broccoli.  It seems like a food you have to eat slowly.
  • One of my readers was nice enough to share some fitness tips with me.  Included in his email was this line that cracked me up, “I enjoy reading BON enough that I feel I need to contribute to your longevity.”
  • Two things (somewhat humorously) annoy me about how some people end an email.
    • Instead of typing a name for a signature, only one or two letters (initials) are used.  It’s typing people, unless your name is John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmid put in the extra effort of pressing a few more keys.
    • I roll my eyes a bit when I see “Sent from my iPhone” or “Sent from my BlackBerry.”  It makes me want to end my messages with “Not sent from a mobile device, just a laptop or desktop.”
  • A few of  you have asked what I’ve been giving DogGeeding to make him so energetic.  Well, here it is.  Other than this treat, his diet hasn’t altered one bit and it’s all I can credit for his new found energy.  I’m thinking about eating some with him to see if it gives me any more energy.
  • I appreciate the friends who make an effort to keep in touch.
  • A very odd Wikipedia entry.  Link
  • I was not aware that Punky Brewster’s dad was still alive.  Link
  • Imagine sausage without using the traditional casing but with a bacon casing with bits of bacon included as one of the inside ingredients.  Link [Thanks, WifeGeeding II!]
  • I’m already tired of the local news talking about the Dubya and Laura’s new house.
  • Speaking of local news, WifeGeeding thinks Megan Henderson and Meredith Land are the two best looking female news ladies in DFW.
  • This seems to be a popular video as of late.  A Palestinian girl tries to stop two Israeli soldiers from firing into a crowd by stepping in front of them.  YouTube
  • I have recently discovered that before ER, George Clooney along with Jason Alexander was on a show called E/R.
  • And I leave you with a theme song that has been stuck in my head and now I hope it’s stuck in yours for the rest of they day.  I may just make this a new theme on Bag of Randomness postings.
