Bag of Randomness
- One of my old college roommates always sends me a postcard when he travels. It’s one of those small acts of kindness that goes a long ways, and something I try to do as well – but I just don’t travel that much.
- I had an old high school friend call me up out of the blue that wanted to have lunch with me yesterday. Because of Lent I couldn’t meet him at a restaurant, so he agreed to eat in the cafeteria at work for a nice little visit.
- I think Meghan McCain is a breath of fresh air for the Republican party. Rush Limbaugh, not so much.
- A bunch of high school kids faked a kidnapping at a local Wal-Mart the other day. Considering Texas is a concealed handgun state, they are lucky none of them got their arse capped.
- Jerry, Jerry, Jerry . . . what the heck are you doing with your new stadium. First I hear that the first football game that will be played there will be between Oklahoma and BYU, then I hear you are opening the place up with a silly country concert, now I hear the first sporting event is going to be a soccer match. Jerry, really?

- It wasn’t until I read this article that I learned Texas only has three Tier 1 universities. Can you name them before clicking on the article? Also, I wasn’t aware that UT-Dallas boasts the highest average SAT score of any public university in the state.

- While driving home from work yesterday I was listening to the mp3’s of U2 on Letterman from last week; and when I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight came on, I found a beautiful message within the song that did nothing but bring me joy and a smile to my face all the way home.
- That’s one reason why I love U2 is the message in the lyrics, often times full of joy and hope.

U2 landing at new Dallas Cowboys stadium not confirmed
ARLINGTON – A U2 fan Web site jumped the gun when it announced that the Irish superstars will perform in October at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.
Chad Estis, Cowboys vice president of sales and marketing, wrote in an e-mail Monday morning that the date was not official. That was also confirmed by tour promoter Live Nation.
“Our building is not confirmed at this time,” Estis wrote about a possible U2 show.
U2log.com posted a blog entry saying that the group would perform Oct. 12 at the new stadium and that tickets would go on sale April 20. The posting mistakenly located the stadium in Dallas.
Emily Kopp, director of marketing for Live Nation in Dallas, said she personally hopes that U2 is booked at the new stadium, but that’s not a done deal. Since the tour is making frequent stadium stops, though, the Cowboys’ new home would be a possible venue, she said.
