One of my old college roommates always sends me a postcard when he travels. It’s one of those small acts of kindness that goes a long ways, and something I try to do as well – but I just don’t travel that much.
I had an old high school friend call me up out of the blue that wanted to have lunch with me yesterday. Because of Lent I couldn’t meet him at a restaurant, so he agreed to eat in the cafeteria at work for a nice little visit.
I think Meghan McCain is a breath of fresh air for the Republican party. Rush Limbaugh, not so much.
A bunch of high school kids faked a kidnapping at a local Wal-Mart the other day. Considering Texas is a concealed handgun state, they are lucky none of them got their arse capped.
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry . . . what the heck are you doing with your new stadium. First I hear that the first football game that will be played there will be between Oklahoma and BYU, then I hear you are opening the place up with a silly country concert, now I hear the first sporting event is going to be a soccer match. Jerry, really?
However, the first luxury suite is complete, and it looks pretty nice. ArticleVideo
If someone would have told me during Lawrence Taylor’s playing days that he would be on a dancing competition I would have asked that person what the heck are they smoking.
It wasn’t until I read this article that I learned Texas only has three Tier 1 universities. Can you name them before clicking on the article? Also, I wasn’t aware that UT-Dallas boasts the highest average SAT score of any public university in the state.
Of course I’ve been told on numerous that I attended the Harvard of the south . . . yeahhhhh righhhhhhhht.

I’m sure all of you have heard about about the pastor that was shot over the weekend, which can lead to talk about church security and safety. So when is an appropriate time for a company that markets towards church security and safety to use this in their promotional media? Link
WifeGeeding lost her voice and sounds like Fran Drescher. For better or worst, in sickness and in health, and with annoying voices . . . til death until us part.
While driving home from work yesterday I was listening to the mp3’s of U2 on Letterman from last week; and when I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonightcame on, I found a beautiful message within the song that did nothing but bring me joy and a smile to my face all the way home.
That’s one reason why I love U2 is the message in the lyrics, often times full of joy and hope.
Whoa now!!! Don’t start alienating your soccer fan readers. Plus it is exciting to see an international competition. I saw Mexico v. Ghana in Frisco just before the 2006 World Cup. It was a great game.
Harvard of the South = Duke. I really can’t see most of those other public universities making tier 1. Baylor is hamstrung by its links to the SBC and SMU is ….. SMU. I think maybe if UT Dallas changed its name and incorporated UT-Southwestern Med into its plan it could make something happen.

The Tier1 thing is BIG news here in Lubbock.
