- I got another Christmas card in the mail yesterday. This one is from Sarina, a high school senior in Massachusetts, who wrote us a nice letter saying she’s been reading this blog since the seventh grade. Funny thing, she found this blog by doing a Tom Brady search on the Google. Sarina also wanted DogGeeding and OtherDogGeeding to get plenty of rest before BabyGeeding arrives, and she was nice enough to include a print she made in design class. Best of luck with the college application process, Sabrina.
- While shopping at Fry’s last night I went to the restroom where a father was in a stall with his toddler. Usually it’s the toddler that has to go, but in this case, it was the father and the toddler was just walking around. All I can think is that the father was being responsible, that is, if he was shopping alone, I mean, you just don’t want a toddler running around the store unsupervised – and I have this to look forward to.
- That guy’s kid is probably gonna remember this night and it will haunt him for years. One day he’ll be telling his friends the day his daddy had to go number two in the store and made him watch in the stall.
- The one thing I don’t like about Fry’s, and many stores do this as well, is the cattle call check out line. That is, all customers stand in one line, and then an associate will point them to an open register. I know it’s more efficient, but now I know how cattle feel.
- It looks like it’s gonna snow today, but there won’t be any snow on Christmas day. One day, I wish I could experience a white Christmas.

The Google Christmas Cards Finally Arrived
Yesterday I received 20 Christmas cards from BoN readers. Nineteen of them were from Google link I provided, and one was from Gracie of Corinth, TX. Gracie was not only nice enough to include a coupon to Mimi’s Cafe, but she sent a most creative Christmas card which you’ll be able to see for yourself.
A lot of the Google Christmas (and a few Hanukkah) cards were quite creative, and one even came from a South African reader. Because of the creativity and since they all arrived at the same time, I decided I would share all the messages with you. I only edited the last name on the cards to protect any private information. Oh, and FetusGeeding even got his first ever mail and he’s not even born yet! (And yes, Jonathan, I can definitely tell which one you sent.)
Thanks for taking the time to wish us some Christmas cheer.
Bag of Randomness
- I forgot John Candy was in Home Alone.
- Joe Pesci is also in that movie, which made me wonder when he was last in a movie . . . 2006.
- One down side about this time of year is that the radio personalities I like to listen to on Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket are usually on vacation, right when all the important Cowboys games are being played. But because they are off on a well deserved vacation, they get the lesson known hosts more air time. One of the hosts always invites his father and some other older men, probably in their 70’s and 80’s to sit around and talk sports and what it was like back in the day. I think the segment is called “The Oldtimers Roundtable” and it’s always a joy to listen to. Maybe it’s because I no longer have the opportunity to hear things from my dad regarding to “how things were,” or maybe I just really enjoy the whole concept of reminiscing, but either way, if you have some free time Thursday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm it might be worth listening. You can just hear how much the host enjoys having his father on the show, and you can almost hear it in his voice that he knows this opportunity isn’t going to present itself for much longer and they are treasuring what they can.
