Oklahoma may soon have an official gospel song

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) – The Oklahoma House on Monday voted to name “Swing Low Sweet Chariot” as the state’s official gospel song.

If the measure becomes law, the song would join five others that have official status in the state, including the title song from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Oklahoma!”

The measure, which was already approved by the Senate, passed the House by a vote of 89-0 and now heads to Governor Mary Fallin.

Surely Gov Good Hair isn’t going to sit idly by and leave Texas without an official gospel song, it’s time for him to call another one of those emergency sessions to get something through the Texas legislature mighty quickly.  Heck, he asked us to pray for rain last week and since that time we’ve had nothing but thunderstorms and tornados.

I wonder what song he’ll choose.  I bet it will be something more contemporary and more manly.  You know, something from Carmen’s line of work might just fit.  I mean, he did star as a cowboys in one of his videos.

  • The host, Mike Tirico has one weird receding hairline.
  • Whoever was the set designer for that special did a horrible job as the studio lights were reflecting off the draft board so bad the camera man couldn’t find a comfortable angle.

What’s a buycott?

It is collectively showing appreciation for a company by purchasing their products or services – the opposite of a boycott.
