We got a phone call yesterday from the city informing us of water restrictions that will be implemented this week. I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner.
Speaking of local phone calls, I remember as a kind in Mineral Wells I only had to dial five numbers to reach a friend.
I also remember commercials stating a “metro number,” but I really never understood what that was.
I’ve recently subscribed to Consumer Reports. A lot of folks don’t realize there are no advertisements in the publication. If they accepted them, then they could become partial in their reviews.

There seems to be a lot of debate about insurers having to provide birth control to women for free next fall. Off hand, I thought this was something that both political parties (but not of the Catholic variety) could find common ground on, after all it help reduce unwanted pregnancies, which would bring down abortions, and help lower income folks that aren’t financially ready to be a parent avoid further and more costly government assistance.
I don’t know why some many Republicans want Obama out of office, they pretty much have their way with him, and he really doesn’t come through with any strong liberal agenda other than health care.
Someone working at an upscale children’s care center has created a Twitter account about things overheard by those mothers. Funny stuff. Here’s one to give you an idea, ” Teachers and childcare providers should make their cell phone numbers readily available. I shouldn’t have to work around THEIR schedule.”
Other than bragging rights, what’s the point of building the world’s tallest building? Costs are high, transportation within the building is inefficient (like riding the elevator) , as well as heating and cooling and plumbing, and parking has to be a pain.
I’ve never been much for putting up a sunscreen in my car, it just seems like a lot of hassle for little payoff.
