Portraits Made of Bullets of People Killed by Bullets

Artist David Palmer (wasn’t that the President in 24?) used bullets to make portraits of people who died by those objects.  You can check out a slideshow of Bullet Proof Art here.  The only portrait of a person I found in the piece that didn’t die by a bullet was John Wayne.

  • I’m an adjunct professor of finance (at least that’s the job title) at a Christian university and I recently received a phone call from a student calling on behalf of the university thanking us for our service and asking if we had anything we would like them to pray for.  She then asked if I received a Founders Day pledge in the mail, and if not, she would be happy to send another one to me which would reference her name and a suggested pledge amount.  I think she’s majoring in rope-a-doping.

Man Marries Dead Girlfriend In Joint Funeral And Wedding Ceremony

A man recently married his deceased girlfriend in a combination funeral and wedding ceremony.

Chadil Deffy, also known as Deff Yingyuen, placed a ring on the finger of Sarinya “Anne” Kamsook, his girlfriend of 10 years, during the ceremony in Thailand’s Surin province.

The couple had planned to get married in the future, but Yingyuen wanted to focus on his studies before tying the knot, the Thai-Asean News (TAN) Network reported.

Unfortunately, Kamsook unexpectedly died in an accident before the couple could set a date.

Chadil wrote matter-of-factly online — and would later give interviews in the same vein — explaining that the motivation for this display was guilt, pure and simple: He felt he hadn’t done enough for his girlfriend of 10 years while she was alive. Before her sudden death in a road accident, she had suggested that he marry her. But he had demurred, putting the idea on hold.

The “wedding” was his attempt to right a wrong, however belated the gesture might have been.

School District Rejects Cougar Mascot, Says It’s Offensive to Women

Amid some controversy, Draper’s new high school has a mascot and school colors.

Future students within Corner Canyon High School’s boundaries were mailed ballots and selected navy, silver and white for their school colors. The Charger was selected as the mascot.

With 23 percent of the votes, future students had selected the Cougar as the school’s mascot, but Canyons School District said that board members expressed concern over the use of Cougar because it’s used as a derogatory term for some women.

They also said that the Cougar is also a mascot for three other Utah schools, plus Brigham Young University, whose school colors are also blue and white. Corner Canyon High School is the first in Utah to use the Charger as its mascot.
