  • I have the hardest time tearing cling wrap with the serrated cutter on the box.
  • It’s interesting what an up and down rollercoaster divorce is. I wish it on no one.
  • I haven’t been inside a mega church in like a decade. I stepped inside one yesterday and was amazed at how much a mega church can grow and the vast amount of resources they have. It felt like I was in a larger version of Terminal D at DFW Airport as I roamed the halls.
  • Not too long ago, I wrote about a church friend’s saying that acceptance is the answer to all his problems. I’ve been chewing on that one for a while. Then, I started to read Bono’s book, Surrender. It’s 40 stories of how he has surrendered to something greater than he is. That got me to thinking about the difference between acceptance and surrender. I cornered that friend on Sunday and told him that I’ve been chewing on his acceptance quote, and wonder if surrender might be a better word. We didn’t come to a conclusion, but it was more stuff to chew on. I actually asked my son about it after church, and it’s interesting listening to how a children will pick apart the differences between the two words. I’ve also been working on being more present, that is, living in the now, and have been reading Practicing The Power of Now as a daily devotional. I thought it was funny after I finished today’s reading and saw this on the following page.
  • The ‘He Gets Us’ commercials promote Jesus. Who’s behind them and what is the goal?
    • The ads are reportedly funded in part by the family that owns the notably religious craft store chain Hobby Lobby, according to Christianity Today, as well as other evangelical groups, including a foundation called The Signatry.
  • Bill would ban the teaching of scientific theories in Montana schoolsMore than 20 people testified against Senate Bill 235, concerned that it could keep teachers from including gravitational theory, evolution and cell theory in curriculum.
  • South Dallas still skeptical after DISD sold school to megachurch for low bid
  • Renewable energy forecast to dominate global power sector growth by 2025A ‘tipping point’ for power sector pollution may be on the horizon as energy growth outpaces fossil fuels.
  • I hate it that I rose my arm to wave, it looks like I’m saluting Hitler.

  • When I buy sunglasses, I always prefer the amber tint.
  • I’m not much of a Chelsea Handler fan. She’s guest hosting The Daily Show right now. I’ve seen a few of the shows and overall I think she’s killing it. But there’s something with her delivery that’s just off.
  • I bet one reason the Chinese “weather” balloon was shot down over the ocean was because debris slashing down in the water wouldn’t break apart as much. They would rather cover it intact, and the water gave better odds than the ground.
    • For the pilot, does that count as shooting down an enemy aircraft?
    • I’m surprised they used a missile. They sure are expensive, but then again, what else are they going to use them for? I guess it’s better to use them than have them sitting around gathering dust. Maybe I’ve watched Top Gun too much, but thought the pilot would fly so close to the balloon that he had to switch to guns.

  • Loving uncle offers to walk lesbian niece down aisle after parents reject her
The woman’s father angrily told the uncle that it was his “right” to “give” his own daughter “away.”
  • How Great Britain Looted Up To $45 Trillion From India
    • Did this happen? Was it legal? And if it happened, what are the steps taken to recover this vast sum, if possible? When it comes down to accurate information on what happened many years ago, there comes the need to separate the facts from the presumptions. Now, let’s go down history lane to understand just when and how Great Britain looted $45 trillion from India.
  • I’m still on an Elvis kick and continue to be amazed at Austin Butler’s dead-on performance.

Out of all the outfits Elvis work, it’s this white suit from the comeback special I like most. Here’s an Elvis tidbit. His. His father chose a white suit for him to be buried in. Oh, you want another? Whitney Houston’s mother was one of Elvis’ backup singers.
