We ended up going to the Dallas Zoo and don’t have any regrets. It was our first visit, and it’s nothing like I’ve heard about what it was like in the past. Nothing seemed run down and all the habitats look comfy and natural, there were certainly no concrete or steel jungle type stuff. It did seem like some of the habitats made it hard for viewing, and I kind of felt for the kangaroos and emus as their habitat was close to the freeway and you could hear a lot of road noise.

Crowds were pretty small, which helped make for a good experience, and the staff was much friendlier than I expected. Oh, and the zoo was easy to find and get to, parking was super close.
Parking was $8, and of course food was expensive, but you can bring your own lunch.
DaughterGeeding was a brave little soul riding a pony and a camel, and then she was scared of feeding the giraffe until it licked her.
Before heading out I told DaughterGeeding that the monkeys might throw their poo, and the she turned to her mother and said, “Mommy, the monkeys might through their poo-poo, we should take some bathroom spray.”
There was a group of students from a Bush Elementary. Their mascot happened to be the Patriots, which made me think I was in the middle of a ‘King of the Hill’ or some kind of Seth MacFarlane skit.
Pictures of our day at the zoo are at the bottom of this post. The first pic should be of GirlGeeding in front of the Dallas Zoo sign. I thought it was odd for the zoo to allow the trees in front of the sign to grow so tall to cover up the actual sign.
I heard that when a guy greets a girl by using her name, as opposed to just saying hi or hello, that he likes her. There may be some truth to that.
Déjà vu hit me twice yesterday.
I’ve noticed that the Supreme Court building is going through some kind of exterior renovation, and to cover up the work there’s basically a huge sheet with a real size picture of what the building should look like on the outside. I’m not sure the reason for the sheet, but it seems like an expense that’s not needed. Maybe they just want the symbolism of the building to remain in tact, it’s a safety precaution of some sort, or special chambers and passages are being built and it’s one way to cover the work.
I saw the mayor of Irving on the local news yesterday, and I think my Wise county blogging lawyer friend would say she’s a hey now, especially for mayor standards. But she does fit a certain Texas stereotype.
Gov Good Hair likes to tout the line of a limited government and that government should stay out of our personal lives, but recruiting companies to come to Texas over the California airwaves seems counter intuitive to that message.
I can’t remember if I mentioned the HBO ‘Real Sports’ interview of Mike Tyson and his new theater show in which he basically talks about his life. The interviewer asked him what it’s like being a thespian and then joked with Tyson that that term had nothing to do with two women loving each other, and then Tyson replies saying the term ‘thespian’ is derived from Thespis, the world’s first credited actor.
I’m almost certain those portable police towers you see in store parking lots are always empty.
I wonder how this cold spring is going to affect the bluebonnets.
As of right now I’m not sure if we are going to the Fort Worth Zoo or the Dallas Zoo. I’ve always thought of the Dallas Zoo as a bit budget, but I hear they’ve upgraded a lot recently. #RIPJabari
Our community sent out an email notice that a resident caught a thief that was posing as an exterminator casing around her home, but he fled once he entered the backyard and saw her in through glass of the back door. When you work from, you don’t have to worry about this as much, but I wonder when I’m not home have my dogs excessive barking have ever turned them away.

The NFL Networks is replaying ‘NFL Road Tested: The Cleveland Browns“. You basically get a behind the scenes look at what it’s like for an NFL to travel during the entire regular season. It’s really pretty interesting and you finding interesting tidbits along they way, like how each player has their jersey personally tailored to their liking and that special double sided tape is applied to the shoulder pads to make the jerseys stick and keep opposing players from being able to grab them.

There’s a new dispute on which SEAL Team Six member shot Osama bin Laden. Part of me thinks these different accounts are purposely planned by the government to protect the actual shooter and to create confusion on what actually happened so that our tactics can be kept from the enemy.
