  • Helmet cam captures motorcyclist crashing into bear – YouTube
  • I wonder how many college assignments are still turned in with actual paper as opposed to being emailed or uploaded.  When I teach that option is available, but the average age of my student is 35 and I usually ask for a print out as it’s easier for me to read, notate, and grade.
  • We drove passed a business in Valley Ranch named “Blow Blend and Extend” and WifeGeeding could not get her mind out of the gutter.
  • Speaking of her not getting her mind out of the gutter, she seems more fascinated with Tammy Dombeck’s mammary glands than I.  Everyday she has to comment on them as if the woman is some piece of meat.  But then again, I’m not opposed to having an open dialog with my wife.
  • Remember when women wearing overalls was thing?  I’m daring WifeGeeding to bring them back into style.
  • In addition to my NAFTA, Mexican, and NFL neighbors, I failed to mention the remaining neighbors who are from Columbia.
  • That San Diego mayor should just cross the boarder into Mexico and keep on going.
  • I listened to a few segments of the newly released Nixon tapes.  It was a bit surprising to hear Billy Graham say that he felt like slashing the media’s throats.  I know no one is perfect, but comment along with his ‘synagogue of Satan‘ comment makes me think of that adage that the true test of a man is how he acts when no one is watching.
  • If there’s not an autotuned version of the David Dewhurst call, there needs to be.  The more I listened to that call, the drunker he seemed to get.  How much influence and pull do you think you really have when you have to call the front desk?  Couldn’t he have gotten one of his staffers to get the number of someone higher up?  And whoever that relative of his is that got shoplifting, now her mugshot is everywhere and she had to go back to teaching next week, maybe.
  • All the “Get Calm and  . . . ” shirts were cute at first but they have gotten out of hand.
  • I caught a little bit of the NFL Network’s ‘John Riggins: A Football Life’ and it left me wondering if he was the last great white running back.  Interesting fact, he ran for more yards in his thirties than he did when he was in his twenties.  The show also stated he used to use his Superbowl MVP trophy as a doorstop and he was married by Rudy Giuliani.
  • I don’t think the Redskins have won a Super Bowl since they moved into their new stadium.  I fear the same will happen for the Cowboys.
  • I bet with the popularity of stored phone numbers the number of wrong numbers have decreased dramatically.
  • I don’t understand the business model of autofranchises and why manufacturers don’t just sell straight to the public like Telsa Motors wants to do.  I’ve read their are franchising laws but don’t understand why they were created and the need for a middle man.
  • When I hear people say “I’m not going to stoop to that level” it sounds like they already have because they are judging that they are already a better human.

  • Fox Sports 1 is going to have a ‘Hard Knocks’ kind of show but it will be centered around the MLB playoffs.

  • The last two Texas Lt Governors have been caught trying to use the power of their elected office as influence in matters in which they shouldn’t.  Back in 2000, then Lt Gov Good Hair was a passenger and got out of the pulled over vehicle his driver was caught speeding in to talk to the DPS officer to hurry things up.  Now Lt Gov Dewhurst was caught trying to get a family member out of shoplifting and even went as far as saying he knew in his heart she wasn’t guilty and asked for the mobile numbers of the sheriff and county judge.  But I guess to be honest, it would be hard not to use that influence when given that power, and that’s probably why I don’t have much power in anything, I couldn’t handle it.

  • WifeGeeding saw that a friend on Facebook posted pictures of her wedding in the Texas State Capitol rotunda.  Upon further investigation, you can contact the preservation board and arrange to get married there, but they won’t close it off so you will have to put up with tourists.
  • Time Warner Cable may have said they fixed my problem by redeploying some code, but my modem, which I got back in May, restarted itself once again.  Hopefully the tech that is coming out on Friday will be able to resolve the issue, and thanks to the reader that gave me some tips on how to get past the front line reps and escalate a ticket.  I guess for now I should just wait on the tech.
