The last two Texas Lt Governors have been caught trying to use the power of their elected office as influence in matters in which they shouldn’t. Back in 2000, then Lt Gov Good Hair was a passenger and got out of the pulled over vehicle his driver was caught speeding in to talk to the DPS officer to hurry things up. Now Lt Gov Dewhurst was caught trying to get a family member out of shoplifting and even went as far as saying he knew in his heart she wasn’t guilty and asked for the mobile numbers of the sheriff and county judge. But I guess to be honest, it would be hard not to use that influence when given that power, and that’s probably why I don’t have much power in anything, I couldn’t handle it.
