Linfield College has all sorts of problems to deal with. From squirrels in the coaches’ office to cheap shots like this one from Hardin-Simmons’ guard Wyatt Walton on cornerback Brandon Funk during Linfield’s 71-21 win on Saturday. With 57 straight winning seasons, Linfield has probably dealt with a good number of frustrated opponents. What Walton did impressively crossed the line. The offensive lineman was running full speed after the whistle when he trucked Funk. Walton was ejected.

Bag of Randomness

  • Happy birthday, David.
  • Last night’s Harvest Moon was so bright I actually woke WifeGeeding up to take a look at it.  She didn’t understand the big deal until she saw it for herself and had to squint at it because it was so bright.
  • The TICKET had JFK assassination journalist Hugh Aynesworth as an in-studio guest yesterday.  When I worked at Southwest Airlines I decided to get a haircut during lunch at an obscure barbershop.  As I waited my turn, Aynesworth walked in and sat next to me.  While I didn’t know his name, I could recall he was a reporter and we struck up a good ten minute conversation.  One heck of a friendly guy, one hell of a story teller.
  • A hat-tip to Barry for “reporting” about the cars and bodies found in an Oklahoma  days before the major news outlets.  All the stories state they were found by accident during new sonar equipment training.  I’m actually surprised that after discovering cars at the bottom of the lake they would send a dive team and retrieve them just to check things out.  I tend to think a lot of big  things like cars are at the bottom of almost every lake.  But maybe that new sonar equipment could also identify skeletal remains.
  • I don’t think Cleveland is very smart in trading Trent Richardson, but now I think Indy is a for sure playoff contender.
  • The world’s smallest street legal car is 25 inches high; 2 feet, 1.75 inches wide; and 4 feet, 1.75 inches long.  The car is in Arizona but it has Texas plates.  So while everything is bigger in Texas, they become smaller out of state?  And yes, Nathan and George, I know your thoughts about the greatness of Alaska.
