- All it took was a name change. The Giants never lost in Cowboys Stadium but haven’t won in ATT Stadium.
- Cowboys/ATT Stadium had a great night view with the roof open because of the giant glowing blue star on top of the Jerrytron. But last night they showed a view from the top and that star has been replaced with an ATT logo.

- I think the Giants played poor more than the Cowboys played well.
- I did watch ‘Breaking Bad’ last night, but will hold off on any thoughts as I’m sure most of you were watching football and didn’t get a chance to view it.
- I saw a new dentist office open in the neighborhood and I thought I’d give them a try. I really loved my old dentist, but since I no longer work in Dallas I just didn’t want to make the drive. The website showed a female dentist, which I prefer because of their smaller hands and tend to be more gentle, but I got some dude instead. They don’t have enough patients to hire a hygienist yet, so the dentist actually did all the cleaning. But they were a little unorganized as they couldn’t find any fluoride to give me after my cleaning. That reminds me of the time when a friend of mine told me he worked at the Arby’s in Abilene and they actually ran out of roast beef. The manager was let go shortly after that incident.
- That new dentist told me that my insurance doesn’t pay for fluoride which I thought was strange. They ended up charging my $20 for it, but he did give me the option of not using any. But they did end up using some sort of special digital camera to take pictures inside my mouth and let me see the on the screen.
- I may go back to my old dentist, even if it’s a bit far. My wife goes to another dentist in our neighborhood, but there’s something about the guy that seems shady.
- I started a new testosterone medication and found that one side effect of testosterone medicine in general is sleep apnea I think my sleep apnea problems didn’t happen until I started testosterone medication several years ago.
- I often see a car that says Asian Driving School in the area, and yes, Asians are usually driving, mostly Southern Asians.
- There’s a horrific story of an eight-year-old Dallas boy playing tag and then getting shot in the face and running inside screaming to his mother with mouth just hanging off. But the shooter does remind me of Dallas born actor Glenn Morshower, which you may as a Secret Service agent in ’24’ or Landry’s father in ‘Friday Night Lights’.
- This would be a hard challenge, kinda – Canadian Family Living Only Off 1986 Technology – I just wish the article would have stated why they chose 1986, all I can think is that it’s some kind of Back to the Future reference.
- I saw that Hardin-Simmons received their largest gift in university history . . . $16 million. That figure is probably laughable compared to the gifts to universities most of you attended. For the heck of it, I looked up Baylor’s largest gift and it’s $35 million, SMU’s is $33 million. Actually, another source says Baylor’s largest gift is $200 million and the University of Texas’ is $245 million.

The only real blowout in the NFL this week was KC 28 Jacksonville 2.

- I can’t decide if the Michigan halftime show was great or just too much.
- The Longhorns fired their Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz after losing to BYU. That will take a little pressure off Longhorn fans calling for Mack Brown’s head, but not much. But if the Longhorns get rid of Brown, I don’t know who they think they can get to replace him.
- Brown may not be a great coach, but I his style. When Texas won their first Rose Bowl off a last second field goal the kicker was interviewed and asked what did Brown say to him before the kick. The kicker said, “You’re the luckiest man in all Texas tonight, you are about to win the Rose Bowl.” And then the next year when they won the National Championship at the Rose Bowl, he told his team who were barely in their 20’s, “Don’t let this be the best thing that ever happens in your life. Maybe it’ll be the best sports event, but don’t let it be the best thing. Make sure you’re a better father than this today. Make sure you’re a better husband than this today, because this goes away. It’s a game.” I love the attitude, I love the perspective, but yes, it would be nice to see more wins again.
- I can’t figure out if Baylor has a very good football team, playing a powder-puff opponents, or something in between.
