- I bit into a hollow Hershey’s Kiss and it kinda freaked me out for a moment. The package was just solid milk chocolate, not the almond kind, so it was just kinda weird.
- Yesterday was the busiest day of the year for the post office, and I didn’t realize that until I got there to mail pictures to my family in Vietnam. But surprisingly, the line moved pretty fast and the workers real friendly.
- When MomGeeding was living with us she bought a 25-pound of rice from one of the local Vietnamese grocery stores. She died seven years ago. Last night we finally finished that bag of rice. I guess rice doesn’t go bad or spoil, and everytime I got a scoop of it to cook, I never thought twice if it was still good or went bad.
- At church last night someone shared how they refused to take part in their office Secret Santa as a way to stand up for Christ and show how they are set apart as a Christian. While I appreciate her intent, I don’t think it’s a very effective or graceful way of discipleship or ministry.
- I heard two mothers talk about their college age children last light. One checks her daughter’s email regularly and the young adult will be traveling abroad next semester. The other talked about how they converse at a certain time each week, and when their young adult was over an hour and a half late calling ,they started to check phone records and send texts to the young adult’s friends and came close to calling the university police. The child later called to say it was an oversight due to turning the phone off and losing track of time studying for finals.
